Brant: I have an undercarriage pic of 5F07K261914, which should have been early enough to have the transverse system. The pic shows the brake hose bracket off to the side, not near the tunnel like yours. It also shows a normal dual exhaust rear brake hose. The car has had some restoration work on it, so can't say with 100% certainty that this is the original configuration.

Hard to tell in your pic, but are there 2 indents where the bracket would be typically located on the unibody? They are usually perpendicular to each other, used as a locating spot for the bracket.

MCA tries to stress that judges are really coaches to help owners improve their cars. As Tom has pointed out in the current MCA rules, ribbed hose is not called out, specifically. That's why I mentioned that this is more of a suggestion item than a deduction item in the Concours classes. Of course, there are many details that fall into this category, which is what makes the judging process so subjective. Wish I had a better answer for this, but we are trying to make things better... and most importantly, more consistent.

Radiator over-flow hose is a tricky one to get right, even without the ribbing detail.

Not to change subjects... but does anyone know if the ribbing on these and other hoses identify the manufacturer?

I don't look at VMF anymore, so you'll have to tell me who it is. MCA accepts the white washer T's if the corners are clipped in concours judging. I don't see how this would be any different than the ribbed washer hoses. I would like to see all the cars have the correct ribbed hose and clear washer T's, but these sorts of details are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to correctness. The best thing we can do is to add more detail as we learn new things.

Hehe, well, that is partly true. Most judges will recognize that this is really a thoroughbred-type detail. I would hope that most judges would just make a comment on the sheets as an item for improvement, but not deduct for it.

Yes, the original wiper washer hoses were ribbed.

Yes, brake master cylinder was typically all black, painted with the cap on and plugs in the line holes.

It would be best if you specify a production plant and scheduled date of the car you need pics for. Makes a big difference.

While I agree with Ralph to a degree, there are many more details on a K code body that would have to be done right, other than just the bumper plate. It would take a considerable effort to get every little detail right.

I've never seen one get worn out or damaged. There are only 2 reasons I can see someone needing this plate:

-Repairing a very rusty car or restoring a car that might have been tubbed for drag-racing.

-Trying to make a more authentic re-body

What level of restoration are you shooting for with this car?

Does it have a K code VIN on it? If not, and no hi-po main caps, just another run of the mill 289. Probably worth $100-250 as a core.

And be very careful of carbs that have been re-stamped!!!!
