cowboys mustang here, the seller of the aircleaner that went for $660. the bidding just got higher and higher. it was a supprise to me as much as you'all. i think having the original shelby invoice with it was what made it jump.

Thanks for checking in here, Marty. I'm sure you were nicely surprised that the bidding went as high as it did. Those filters were cheap when they were new. Who would ever think that someone would pay such a high amount for one of them?

It only appears to be a Thunderbolt. The real ones were all sedans with fully framed door glass and a post on the quarter window...

    Correct - still looks nice.

Quite right, Noel. I've always preferred the '64 Fairlane coupes vs the 2 door sedans, T-Bolt or otherwise. Most agree that the original Thunderbolts were made from stripped Fairlane sedans to provide slightly more unibody strength, along with lower initial cost.

Here's a used AUTOLITE distributor that is disassembled. It SOLD for $103.50.

    DESCRIPTION:

This is an Autolite dual point distributor that is disassembled, but all the parts look like they are all there, including the special clip that retains the advance, points cam. I believe it to be a service date, but 1971 might be early enough to be correct for something?

There is some minor rust pitting on the shaft. I took some emory cloth and polished it somewhat, and I believe it will be fine to run that way. The only thing that seems to be missing is the points lead to the coil. The casting # is C5OF 12127 E.

I am a machine shop owner with 25 years experience. I build custom racing and high performance street engines. I don’t build or sell junk, so bid with confidence.

Here's a used FoMoCo stamped dual point distributor that SOLD for only $126.50.

    DESCRIPTION:

65 Ford dual point distributor, no vacumn advance, if I remember correctly came out of a 65 High Performance 289 Mustang. Been laying in my shop for 20 years or so, don't think I'm going to use it, so it's time to go. If you have a 289 HiPo motor, this is the part you want to make it correct. Has the following numbers on it: C50F-12131-B, located on lower housing. On the side of the main housing it has C5OF 12127 E, and below this is 4HB. Distributor is in great shape except for one of the ears that the pin goes through to hold one of the clips is broken. Could probably be fixed with a little jb weld. Email me with any questions. Thanks for looking.

I guess it's a little disappointing for you, but prices have been all over the place for these distributors on eBay. The ones that should bring big dollars don't always, and other ones that aren't that desirable (IMO) sometimes pull down many times more than they should.

This one SOLD for only $95.01.

    DESCRIPTION:

This is a Motocraft service replacement distributor for the famous 65-67 289 High Performance engine. Points and condensor will need to be replaced. Coil wire is missing, will try to locate it before end of auction, but for bidding purposes, consider it MIA. Will include an NOS set of advance springs. C50F-12127-E, date code 8C27. Spins free, but feels like its about ready for a new set of bushings. Body is in fantastic condition, and appears to be sporting a coat of paint.

Here's a used set of rods that SOLD for $356.51.

    DESCRIPTION:

This is a set of 289 HiPo rods that were removed from a HiPo engine. These rods are stamped C3AE-D, and have 3/8" rod bolts. They include the wrist pins as shown in the photos, however, a few of those wrist pins have a bit of rust on them since they have not been used for a while. The connecting rods are in good condition with no cracks.

This used FoMoCo dual point distributor SOLD for $406.56.

    DESCRIPTION:

Here is an original Ford dual-point distributor (C5OF-12127-E) that fits all 289 cubic inch High Performance engines from 1964 thru 1967. It is a FoMoCo casting (not an Autolite), and it is dated 5-AA which I believe was the first week of January 1965. I have had the housing glass beaded to clean it. It is tight with no slack in the shaft. It has no stripped screw holes in the plate where two point sets and condenser go. It is a very nice looking unit with no corrosion or dents in the housing. It would be a nice distributor for your "K" model Mustang or Shelby if you need an original dated unit. Thank you for your interest in my auction. Pardon my photos, the distributor is far better than pictures show.
