What is baffling is the GT fender badges. The seller painted over the original paint and swears that the running horse emblems were there with no MUSTANG letters. This guy was as straight as an arrow and I do believe him. So either the previous owner took the GT badges off and put the ponies on or it left the factory that way. That is of course if the consensus is that it also left the factory as a GT.

Nice looking car! Have you checked the front fenders for date codes? Maybe they were swapped out by the original owner?

Here's a used early style Rally Pack that was SOLD for $234.50 by eBay seller "okeeracer".

    DESCRIPTION:

You are bidding on a factory Rally Pack for a 1965 Mustang. We see that the person we bought it from did a "resto in a can", but we're not asking a lot for it compared to the one's that are professionally restored.

These used heads were SOLD along with an intake manifold, and a set of 8 connecting rods for a "package price" of only $970.00 by eBay seller "golfbarefoot". WOW!

    DESCRIPTION:

This auction is for a package of 289 K code engine parts. If you have an authentic 289 Cobra, now is your chance to find the numbers you need. The parts consist of:

    (2) 289 K code C3OE cylinder heads dated 3J19

    (1) 289 K code C40E intake manifold dated 3H29

    (1) 289 K code C40E-6059-A Timing cover

    (8| 289 K code C4AE/C4AE-D connecting rods 3/8" bolts

Everything looks great. I have not had any of these parts machined or worked on. They were magflux before I bought them to ensure no damage, that's all I know. The connecting rods have some square 3/8" bolts and some football shaped 3/8" bolts, so some could be 289 HIPO, and some 302 BOSS. They are all the same size, and have the numbers 1-8. Let me know if you want pistons when you win, not sure what they are.

This used distributor was SOLD for $166.06 by eBay seller "79broncoefi"

    DESCRIPTION:

You are bidding on a 1975 289 H.P. Distributor. The numbers cast and stamped in the front are as follows: C5OF 12127 E 5K20 MOTORCRAFT

The numbers cast in the side are: C50F-12131-B

All of the numbers and markings are extremely clear; my camera does not take good pics up close. I guarantee the stampings are about absolutly perfect. The distributor is in excellant condition, and it has never been restored. It is a factory finish not a bead blast, so there is some minor corrosion on the surface in some areas. The two clips have surface rust as do the pins. The gear is in good condition with no unusual wear.

This used distributor was SOLD for $310.78 by eBay seller "billh2".

    DESCRIPTION:

You are bidding on a 1965 289 H.P. Distributor. It has FoMoCo cast into the side, so it is NOT a service replacement. When I purchased it, I was assured that it didn’t have a date code. After cleaning it, the date code was revealed. It is barely legible. The first number appears to be a 5. The second letter appears to be a D. The only letter that is readable is the last one, which is a D. So, The distributor’s date code is the fourth week of April, 1965. The reason I am selling it is because it is out of date for my car by five months.

I had it disassembled, cleaned, glass beaded, and reassembled with new Borg Warner points and condensor. I would rate the condition of the bushings as fair. The lead wire should be replaced as it is not correct for a HiPo Distributor.

This is a used item and it sold as is.

This used block was SOLD for $1825.00 by eBay seller "planman8".

    DESCRIPTION:

Up for auction is a C5AE-6015E hipo motor block only. Dated 4L30 (Nov.30,1964). Block has been degreased, line bored, and bored .030 over with new cam bearings & freeze plugs. It has screw-in oil plugs. It has the original Ford HiPo (not Mexican block) main caps. It came out of an early 1965 "K" code Mustang. Could not find any VIN number. Just what you need to get that late 1964 or early 65 K-code rolling.

    ...Was there a Mustang taxi?

Probably not! Remember, the 1965 Shop Manual is for Comets, Falcons, Fairlanes, and Mustangs. It's quite possible that there were fleets of 6 cylinder Falcons and/or Fairlanes taxis delivered in 1965, hence the reference to a taxi carburetor application.

... I am overall pleased with my "new" K code. WOW...WHAT A BLAST! I have had 3 other 65-66 289 ponys...C & A codes. Absolutely no comparison. The raw power, speed and special handling package makes you want to drive all day until you look at the gas guage. Now that I know what it is like to drive a K, I could not go back to a C or an A code.

Here's a used set of original exhaust manifolds that SOLD for $350.00 by eBay seller "jone67".

    DESCRIPTION:

Here is an original set of 289 High Performance exhaust manifolds. Drivers side has C3OE prefix and passenger side has C4ZE. These would work on your 1964, 1965, 1966, or 1967 K code Mustang. They would also be correct for an early 67 Shelby GT 350. They are in good used condition. They do have some pitting and would benefit from bead blasting and painting. Selling at NO RESERVE! Thanks for looking.

This used alternator was SOLD for $136.57 by eBay seller "schalk69".

    DESCRIPTION:

Up for auction is an original 289 HiPo alternator with an original HiPo fan pulley C5AF10A352-H from a '65 Shelby (SFM 5S363) that I have since sold. This is the same unit that goes on 289 HiPo Mustangs as well. I believe the pulley is the same as that on 69-70 Boss 302's except the pulley is zinc plated, although the case would be incorrect. That said, I lightly beedblasted the pulley as there was some light pitting on it. The unit should be rebuilt, but the pulley spins freely. Item should clean up very nicely. Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding. Item sold as is.

A friend let me borrow the book quoted below and I'm curious about the quote...

"because the stock engine wouldn't hold together much past 6500 rpm."

    Any comments?

Geez...I guess I'm lucky because I never had any of my stock 289 High Performance engines fail in over 35 years with plenty of shifts at 7000 RPMs.

I have 2 original unrestored HiPo Comets, and one has an export brace, and the other doesn't.

What model year(s) do you have? Do they both have a six digit DSO code? What assembly plant(s) built your Comets? I've seen only four authentic HiPo Cyclones "in person". They all had factory export braces, and they were 1965 models...
