come on,,anyone...I need to post some pics for some discussion..thanks

Since this site is hosted via a third party, we are not allowed to let users directly attach files to any posts. This is true with most other online forums similar to these. However, you may "link" to images using the image button on the post form or by adding the image tags directly to the message field of your post. You will have to upload the images to space provided by your ISP, or use a "free space" available from several online picture hosting services.

Gene, I might be able to help if no one else can...Biggest issue I see is probably a copyright issue with the use of the pictures. Most people will agree if asked.

Thanks, Bob. I'll contact you to follow up on this situation. It's possible there might be a copyright issue if someone other than the owner "takes" pictures from one public forum (such as eBay) and presents them on another public forum. I suppose as long as there is no charge for viewing them, it may not involve a legal issue.

How about PDFs somewhere? Is that a viable approach?

It might be, but I'm not sure exactly how that would work, Dave. In the past, I would copy and save the jpeg's to my computer. Then they could be uploaded directly onto the site with a special "program" provided for this purpose. The images were not "hot linked", but are actually part of the site. That's why they didn't "expire" when the links were "broken" by forces beyond our control.

In the early days of the site, the administrator had sufficient time to keep up with this sort of "housekeeping" of loading all the images directly onto the site so they wouldn't be lost, but it became a problem as more and more images became available to us. I agreed to assist, and he wrote a program to enable me to add the pictures onto the site from my computer. Having cable internet service really made the process go fast enough for me to keep up with all the data downloading and uploading necessary.

The site was forced to switch servers in March of 2007 because of a collapse in performance by the original server. I'm not sure why the "upload image program" doesn't work with the current server we have. It's not within my range of expertise to figure out a fix or "patch" that is compatible with them. So far, it's the only downside of making the switch...

...I agree, many kars have been advertised the last few months on eBay that have not been mentioned and discussed. The discussion is the part we all learn from as well as keeping track of kars not in the registry.

The last post for sales info regarding parts was 8/23!!

Along with other site members, I would post on this site the results of many, many interesting eBay auctions for K code cars and parts. (It's why I have so many posts!) Although it took a lot of my time, I enjoyed doing this for the benefit of everyone here. Having a cable internet connection make it feasible to do the work faster...

Years ago, I was given a "special program" to upload the pictures onto this site by the webmaster because he didn't have enough time to keep up with this task. Ever since the site switched servers (remember when the site ran so slow nobody could use it?), the ability for me to permanently save the pictures here by uploading the auction pictures directly onto the site has been lost because of a program "compatibility problem" with the server. It means that any photos on this site currently linked to an eBay auction will turn into "X Boxes" when eBay deletes the auction. This usually happens a few months after the auction ends, and it will make it impossible for those who want to access these pictures in the future.

In order to get around this problem, I opened an account with a so-called "free hosting" site to maintain any new pictures for the site, but quickly discovered that there is a limit to how many files (pictures) they would host at no charge. Even though there were "mega-mega" bytes of "free" bandwidth remaining, the account is limited to only 30 or less "free" pictures, no matter how small the photo files are. After that number of pictures is accumulated, there is a monthly fee that must be automatically paid through a credit card account, or no more pictures can be uploaded for hosting. Needless to say, I have hundreds of photos of HiPo Mustangs and parts on my computer, and haven't any way to host them for use on this site that won't cost $$$ month after month...This outcome had a chilling effect on my desire to keep posting stuff that would "expire" after a few months.

A lot of pride is taken in keeping this site looking good. Having good pictures included in the threads makes it more interesting for all to see. But, threads littered with "X" boxes where the pictures used to be makes it look "broken". Nevertheless, I decided to start posting certain eBay auctions (with temporary pictures) for now, but dread the fact that the pictures will disappear in short order.

This used air cleaner base was SOLD for an impressive $191.57 by eBay seller "craiggersfalcon".

    DESCRIPTION:

You are bidding on a correct air cleaner base for a 1966 Mustang or Shelby with the 289 High Performance (K Code) engine. Auction is for the BASE ONLY! It has been repainted with what I believe to be the correct Ford blue color. It is date coded 6C, which stands for March of 1966. It is in nice condition with just a few paint scratches from storage and a couple of paint runs. There are some areas where there may have been some rust on the metal since the surface is a little rough, but looks to have been prepped properly before painting. There is no visible rust now. I purchased this at SAAC 30 in Riverside, CA as part of a complete unit with top for my Hertz Shelby which was missing the correct chrome top piece. The bottom piece is correct and will be retained on the car. This unit that I have for sale is my extra. Maybe someone out there needs one.

Gene, Thanks for restarting the SOLD pricing links on Hipo parts. You always did a good job with this and we have missed your input for a while.

These used heads were SOLD for $995.00 by eBay seller "mustangmasters428".

DESCRIPTION: Here we have a pair of Ford 289 High-Performance heads recently brought to us from one of our recent buyouts. The 289 HiPo motor was the best Ford had to offer in the earlier model Mustangs, Shelby's and Fairlanes. The Shelby GT 350 and all K model Mustangs as well as HiPo Fairlanes all used these 271 HP motors. A stronger, better design: these are a Cobra must.

All the HiPo characteristics are present as seen in the photos. You can clearly see the recessed valve saddles, and, of course, factory screw-in studs. These 289 castings have a "20" on one head, and a "21" on the top corner, and a pronounced 4V on both the top and bottom sides. Pictures clearly show casting number C5OE and date codes are 5J30 and a 5K4 for those that are in need of this info.

These heads are nice, with clean castings, which is uncommon in these high revving motors. We see no signs of cracks or welds, but these heads have been machined on the gasket side to assure a clean, flat surface. These heads were on a balanced 289 motor that had special rods, main cap girdles, had little use, and has been in storage for many years. The footprint (recessed area on bottom of the head to indicate planing or modifications) is clean and freshly cut, and is ready to install.

...The Goodyears I like are E60 and F60 Polyglas Gt.. I know they came out a few years after 65 but I would like to think some guys fitted them. They cost alot of money so am keen to know if any one has a photo of a car fitted with them...

I agree that the E60 and F60 15" Polyglas GT tires with raised white letters are great-looking tires. They define the musclecar era like no other vintage tires can. I'm not sure they will fit the early Mustangs without clearance issues. I've never seen any photos showing the "60" series on the 65-66 Mustangs. You'd probably have more success fitting the F70 or G70 series of Goodyear Polyglas tires. I used to run F70's up front and G70's at the rear on my former '65 Comet Cyclone with stock 14" wheels, and they fit fine with no interference. They almost looked as agressive as the 60 series...

Great link! Looks like someone "ripped" Jay Leno's original piece, and had to split it into 3 parts to fit on You Tube (with considerable loss of video quality). For those who want to see the original 11 minute video with much better image quality, check it out here:
