I had the same experiemce as Merlyn with an AMK regulator. Installed a new Motorcraft solid state one and the gauges are rock steady. Drill out the rivets and screw on the AMK cover and it will look almost OE.

Fred, let me know if they need a pump for a test run. I have an old 4193 that would make a good test mule.

Major bummer. Thanks for all your efforts John!

I have an extra NOS C5AZ-13713-A Autolite door jam switch that I would like to trade for a NOS FoMoCo switch. Thanks, Dave.

Another vote for Automotive Friction. They rebuilt a C6OE pump for me several years ago. As Dave mentions their service was excellent.

Hi Paul, nice talking to you on the phone today. Please sent pics of the seat belts when you get a chance. Thanks, Dave dmgt350@aol.com

...He said he had more than enough business without messing with stuff for people who did not appreciate his work, nada. He was in a word, a jerk...
What the heck kind of logic is that! You go out of your way and approach him about doing business for you, how does that translate that you don't appreciate his work?
Not only does he sound like a jerk, he's also a fool.

Here's another Shelby American publicity pic of the cap tape. This must be an early preproduction car since it has no Shelby VIN tag. Is it possible the tape was put on at least all SJ cars for shipment and was meant to be removed by the dealer? Since both photos shown in this thread are SA publicity photos these cars would not have been delivered to dealers yet.

Charles, this is the early style MC that requires the adapters for the brake lines correct?

Well I guess no one is willing to step up and post pictures or even a verbal description of what they found on their driveshafts. Evidently everyones drive shaft is/was so rusty they have no documentation.
Merlyn, there is a pic of my original 66 SJ tube in the thread listed above in Dave's post.

Sorry Jeff! 6S1757.

BTW, it is a common misconception that the washer reinforcements were done during the Shelby conversion. The washer upper mounts would have been done at the assembly plant.
Here is a detailed discussion on this subject:

You may also want to check with Howard Pardee, SAAC 65-66 GT350 Registrar, to see if that number corresponds to a Shelby VIN.

I had a 66 Hipo T5 GT convertible and it had the shock tower washers. I have seen several other original T5 cars both GT and non GT and they all had the washers as well. Being that a T5 was an export car with the export brace, I am basing my statements on these cars. None of them ever came with Koni's.

Quote from J_SpeegleAs far as Shelbys the washers were typical through 67 (seems a larger percentage of 67's came without them - but the vast majority with from my experiances)
Nothing to do with the Koni's, just a stronger mounting point.
Thanks Fred & Jeff. The 66 GT350's I've observed that originally did not have washer reinforced shock towers are near my car in production sequence so this supports the supply issue theory.

I have seen a few 66 GT350's, including mine, that did not originally come with the washer reinforced shock towers. I have always thought this was a supply issue but have heard from others who believe it was because only the cars with factory Koni's received them. Since Koni's were optional on 66's this is also a reasonable assumption but I haven't seen nearly enough cars to correlate this.
Anyone else with more info or opinions on this?

What type of color is vert?
Vert is the French word for green so not sure how much sense "GREEN & VERT" makes.

SAAC is not without its faults and have made mistakes they possibly thought nobody would care about that have now come back to bite them. But one thing they have done extremely well which is very important is vigorously protect the bloodlines of the cars originally produced by Shelby American as well as promote these cars for the past 30+ years. Where would Shelby products, new and old, be today without them?
This is going to be a bumpy ride but hopefully when this all plays out the two clubs can coexist peacefully.

This is probably obvious but you will be stuffing a lot more air into the engine and it has the get out. A free flowing exhaust system is a must.

The September '64 C-code Fastback I used to own had white headliner and interior except for red carpet and dash pad.
