What kind of intake manifold are you using? Are you planning to Chassis dyno it as well?

Too bad the engine's painted the wrong color...
I think the body is, too. This does not appear to be Nightmist blue to me, as it seems so much lighter. Having said that, I think this car looks great. Nice contrast with the white top, and the wheel well moldings are something different that doesn't look too bad to me. Looks like a great cruising car, and a real charmer.

overcast day, no sun. This is as dull of a white as it ever looks.

The door panels are original, the boot is 2 years old, the seats are 16+ years old.

Maybe you got parchment??? The white is creamy, though. Not a bright white. I've ordered TMI interior products over the last 15 years - all the various batches of "white" match pretty well in my car even despite all the age and various dye lots.

Looking for some pricing guidance. Selling my very mint '66, red on red (non-GT). Has ownership history dating back to 1980. Drivetrain rebuilt by Shelby Parts & Restauration. Completely restored in 2000. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Joel 416-399-9600
With that much information, I'd say somewhere between $35-$60K

RECOMMENDED TEMPLATE: Sold for final sale price by seller
BuyItNow set at bin price(also post BIN if there is one for comparison)

Agreed - Maybe he purchased it back himself?? From the photos the interior and engine bay look a bit "tired". Perhaps the "frame off" restoration and "gulf orange" paint description didn't help either.

speed between 75 & 85 mph (that worked out to 3000 to 3400 rpm), .
Translation: 3.50:1 gearing would be 60-70 MPH at those RPMs. Still very respectable gas mileage!

In all the years my dad drove the Koupe the best she got was 18.2 mpg and he circled it in the book as "best mpg", usually avg. 15 to 17 mpg with 3:50 gears
I'm sure that was with "real" gas, unlike the crap we have to feed our 'stangs today with all the Ethanol and what-not.

I drive both my vintage cars with stock non power brakes (front disc) and can say that for driving use, they work just fine. Now, the HERTZ car is another story, and those brakes really do take effort to make them stop.

Yes, it is!

Hang in there friends!

Awesome car!! BTW, I wasn't trying to be an A-hole - just pokin a little fun at the SAAC guys trying to make something out of nothing. It will be interesting to see how the new registry turns out.

Hi Jay,
Welcome - I love the "carry-overs", although that term is under recent controversy in the SAAC circles

Got any pics?

I put the Gabriels on last night in the front - Love the ride. Now I need to replace the backs - those existing shocks were OLD!!!!

Welcome fellow MN K code man! Where in MN are you located? I'm in the NW burbs.

I went to Autozone and forked over a whopping $36 plus tax for a pair of the Gabriels. I quickly painted the tops red, and will be installing when/if I ever get a chance. I've never done shocks before, but it can't be too hard. Jack it up, remove front wheels, unbolt old, slide out, replace... Am I missing something?
As for the rears, I've never had my fastback rear seat out (it's stuck) - but does the seat have to be removed to access the rear shocks?

Oh yea, I got mine (both '65 and '66 correct painted style) from VA Classic Mustang. The price was very reasonable.
-
It's worth 10x the price of the cheap version - That also holds true for any part you have a choice with in quality.
-
Right now, I'm leaning toward replacing just my front shocks with the Gabriel units. They are less than $20 each. Seems very cheap. My fastback has mostly stock suspension and stuff, so unless I'm missing something, this should be a comfortable ride? I don't want it to ride like grandpa's town car, though. I still want to be able to blast some corners when I want to. It's been sitting for a week and it's time to get her back on the road!
