My definition of "cinch" is "easy"! Like I said, my dad put one on his Shelby, and right out of the box loved it.
Ahh, long tube headers and Flowmasters explains everything!

That's cool. I've heard those carbs are a cinch to get working right out of the box. My dad put one on his Shelby. I wish they offered a "less shiny" finish on them, though. What exhaust are you running? Stock manifolds? Sounds "mean" - different from my car with stock GT exhaust.
Nice car - I can't believe you restored it like that in only 7 months. Nice job. What engine mods do you have there?

I had some sealer goop like this on my '66 and decided to scrape it off. I figured it was just sloppy assembly work, and wasn't supposed to be there (unlike undercoating). Did you just paint over it?
I am also curious about the radio question above.
Thanks for posting all the progress. I love learning!
There are many factors into making a book like this, which will affect your price. I suspect the average price would be $450-500. It is NOT a cookie cutter approach. I have over 10 hours into my own book, and that's with good photos already at my disposal.
Hey Mike, if you are serious you can contact me via email: troy@customshowboards.com
I just received my custom book, and love it! I'm going to be offering these to my "special" clients, as the cost is not for the faint of heart. Hopefully you can get a feel for the quality of this from the photos, but I can tell you the pictures don't do the book justice!

You will be fine! Try and use non oxy fuel if you can find it. Especially with the last tank of gas before winter. Glad to hear you will be driving the car. It's time for you to enjoy it!!
Some of us prefer better than factory standards - myself included. The car looks great!
Reving "by ear" works just fine.... If I shift like I do my fastback (which has a tach), I rarely let her go above 4K....I get pretty terrified when I approach the 5K mark myself!
The sound is terrible, but I tried to stabilize a flip cam between my jaw and sternum while driving. Interesting experiement, but not recommended (:
I need help evaluating a car quickly. Nothing difficult.
PM me your address if you would like a Christmas Card this year!

The bidding is getting up there. Has anybody here seen this car? No pics of the fender VIN. San Jose cars had a bucktag, no? Seller doesn't state if it's a factory GT or not. The pics are fuzzy, but is the choke hooked up?
Congrats - Good decision on the name - "Shelby" is more of a girl's name, and I had 3 shots at that one. Looking back, I'm glad my wife didn't allow it.
Looks very nice, indeed! I could make this car look 20x better with properly exposed pictures..... What a great color. It's too darn bad Ford never offered a white interior in '66, as this car would have loved it with a white top and rocker panel GT stripes. Yummy!
That appears to be a GREAT BUY!
Chrome dipstick? I thought the factory ones were painted block color?
welKome.
yep - Thank you to ALL that respond with a helpful heart on this forum, and there are MANY!! That's why I like it here so much, as there typically isn't the BS you find on other automotive sites.
