I've had the only "non Shelby" K code there for as long as I can remember. This is a huge show with many nice cars - nicest in the area by far. I need some more K codes to show up or bring whatever you got with a Ford engine. I'll likely be displaying my car only since I don't want to get anymore trophys with it at this show.![]()

Congratulations on an excellent SALE on a great looking Kar.
-
I heard it was only about 1 million in damages. That isn't nearly enough to cause panic to our own premiums. If they try it, I'll cry foul.
-
Very good description - and photo documentation. This is a good example of how to sell a car!
-
Yep, that's good money. I hope the seller can actually close and get that money.

66KGT coupe is sold. Heading to the land down under.

Damn, there goes another one. Seems over 75% of the good cars I see advertised eventually sell and leave the US.
-
Sounds nice. I think some pictures will go a long way with your ad. If you need help posting them, I can assist.

There are only a few items I need, but a guy in CA wants to sell the whole lot together. I'm not keen on shipping a rear fold down assembly when I don't need the entire thing. Let me know!

He had it LISTED for that amount - doesn't claim he sold it for that amount.

Oddly enough, Just about every 65-66 K code I see for sale has all the GT trimmings on it.
With only 4% of these being true GT's this is a little misleading.
Apples and oranges again.
The marketing figures for GTs in 1965 are 2.7 percent which comes out to about 18,000 cars. The combined "A" and "K" code totals are about 102,000 of which you may consider half the "A" and "K" code cars to have been built before the GT option was introduced. That comes out to about 35 percent of "A" and "K" code 1965 Mustangs could have the GT option, or about 36,000 Mustangs.
For 1966, the combined "A" and "K" code engines would be about 67,600 and 4.2 percent of that is about 28,400 cars with the GT option.
My percentages are rough and are derived from page 316 of "The Mustang Production Guide, vol 1", and the math was done on a TI pocket caculator, while drinking a glass of 2005 Robert Mondavi Private Selection Cabernet Sauvignon while waiting for the dishwasher to finish.

I tried to wrap my head around all this production numbers guessing more than 2 years ago -

When I flew out for delivery of my K code, I had the dealer (extremely well respected) do an extensive verification, walk around on video camera highlighting all the features of the GT equipment, K code package, and pony interior package. It's fascinating to watch, and I hope to convert it to digital soon as my VHS copy is deteriorating. This was in 1994, and he stated on camera on several occasions that I had the original engine in my car, as well as the car being a factory GT. The price was reflective of these statements. Of course I don't have a build sheet, buck tag (Dearborn car), or original window sticker. Therefore, I need resources like the ones requested above to back up these claims to accurately present my car. Others who are purchasing a car like mine right now also need these details to make sure they are buying what they think they are buying.
So far, I've not been able to disprove the factory GT status of my car with all the info I am aware of out there to help such determination. I also cannot prove that it is a factory GT. Of course it helps that I have original GT parts still on my car such as Gas cap, fog lights, fog switch and wiring. Still, these could have been swapped from another car any number of years ago. Any other information regarding GT verification checklists would be very helpful, if it were available.
As a related note: Would anybody else like to join me in the confusion on the whole punched vs drilled radiator support debate?

Nice looking car - gotta love the steep claims in the description. I make signs for a guy who sells there regularly, and he insists on listing claims on all his descriptions like "finest available", "world's greatest", "none finer", "no expense spared", etc.... I hate that!
Also, no pics of the engine compartment?

My car is Black GT with a Black pony interior.Car is a 66 and was built nov 65 and has a Black low profile RP.
mike
That's cute Mike. Now is it black or is it black?

-
By late, I mean all '66 cars and perhaps some of the late '65s that rolled out a few weeks past the introduction of the Pony interior.
-
Guys, I think we can all agree that black low profile RPs were indeed made and available. I think they would look great with a standard interior car to match the instrument bezel and glove box. However, on a pony interior car, the camera case stands out too much and I feel it should be painted like the column. Can anybody document an original late low profile black camera case RP factory installed on a Pony interior car?

You may want to check with the SAAC guys on http://www.saacforum.com

Is the red an early '65? It doesn't appear that the carpet goes up around and over the door sill area.

looks damn good!!
