Rene, Welcome back as I too am glad to see this site going again. It has been back up since March 2019. Your email suggestion is a good one and Niko had already planned on sending emails to former users of the site and did that yesterday with a good response rate.

I had one of those four known 66 Hipo T-5 GT convertibles for a few years. It is dark Ivy Green with black luxury (pony) interior. As I understand it is now in a museum in Switzerland. I regret having sold it as it too had its original drive train. The downside to the Kar when I bought it was the severe rust issues. I did replace panels with mostly NOS parts at the time and it came out good.

I am happy for you that you have such a time capsule of a Kar.

I have several customers of mine that use them successfully.

The is only one edition of the book. Yes, there are mistakes in the book. Nothing too serious, but bothersome. For example, HiPo cranks were not stamped with hardness markings. They were visually inspected for nodularity -- hence the polished area on the early HiPo cranks. Also, C3AE-E heads are not HiPo heads. The PDF Edition has all the corrections incorporated. Plus, if new errors are discovered, new PDFs are posted, which anyone who has purchased the PDF Edition can download and replace that file for free. Details are on the website.

    Bob,

As I recall, your book represents 17 years of research on your part putting it together. Am I correct here? The printed books used to come with a separate correction sheet. Do they still come with one?

On another subject, I am sure that Bob meant to type C5AE-E for the heads above and not C3AE-E. I chose not to correct it without your knowledge.

    -Fred-

The C5AZ 6A666 A and the C5AZ 6A666 A1 are the same part. This is the correct valve and I have a few NOS ones of these and I will get a better look at them when I return on Wednesday. I have seen the number with the A1 suffix on the Ford box but the actual part number is with the suffix A only. There is really not a Ford part number C5AZ 6A666 A1, only the C5AZ 6A666 A.
