This was the inaugural year for the highly sought-after convertible body, and this is a nicely restored example that has a very correct look. It all makes this exceptional convertible in its own league of extraordinary. Something this significant also gets its details right. That's why you have nice details, like correct 1965 K-code castings for the four-barrel carburetor, intake, heads, and four-speed manual transmission (these items are correct for the car, but are not confirmed original.) The Ford nine-inch rear end is also right for the Hi-Po car, and it has versatile 3.50 positraction gears to give it plenty of punch around town but still cruises reasonably at highway speeds. You're going to really want to take a look over every inch of this car. It shows a detailed restoration, right down to the clean red oxide paint underneath. It's an impressive car. Rare opportunities like this are fleeting, and forever regretted when missed, so call today!

This Kar cries out for a prepurchase inspection to be done. The data plate is a reproduction. It appears to have some incorrect and mismatched items, like the transmission. If the 3.50 rear end is original, it would not have positraction with a "5" rear end code. The rear end code would have been an "E" but positraction in 1965 was not available on a Hipo 289 Mustang. These are just a few of the issues that I see.
