C6ZZKGT · Used C3OF-AJ Hipo Carburetor C6ZZKGT July 22, 2026 at 9:32 PM

Here is an Ebay auction for a used C3OF-AJ Hipo carburetor by Ebay member "jefledyar0" with a starting bid of $2,000.00:

Item: Vintage Autolite 4100 4-Barrel Carburetor (1.12 Venturi "HiPo" Core)Part Number: C3OF-AJOriginal Metal Tag Included: C3OF-AJ / A 4ABHistorical Vehicle Applications:1963–1965 Shelby Cobra 289 (CSX Series Leaf-Spring Cars)1965 Shelby Mustang GT3501963–1965 Ford Mustang "K-Code" 289 High Performance (HiPo)1963–1964 Ford Fairlane & Mercury Comet HiPoDescription:Up for sale is an incredibly rare, highly sought-after Autolite 4100 4-barrel carburetor, model C3OF-AJ with the 1.12 venturi size. This is a factory "HiPo" (High Performance) core designed specifically for Ford's legendary solid-lifter 289ci High-Performance V8 engine. What makes this unit exceptionally valuable to a high-end collector is that it retains its original factory aluminum identification tag stamped C3OF-AJ and date code A 4AB.Date Code Breakdown (4AB):4 = 1964A = NovemberB = 2nd WeekThis November 1964 build date makes it a historically accurate period-piece component for a concours restoration of a Late 1964 / early 1965 Shelby Cobra 289, an early 1965 Shelby GT350, or a 1965 Mustang K-Code.Condition, Known Defects, & Disclaimers:Please read carefully before bidding or buying. I am not a carburetor specialist or mechanic, so I am listing this with full transparency regarding its current condition:Excellent Internal Movement: For a vintage core, this unit is in great shape mechanically. All throttle blades, linkages, and external mechanisms move smoothly and freely. Nothing is seized or rusted solid.95% Complete & All-Original: To the best of my estimation, this carburetor is roughly 95% complete with its original factory components. Both internal float bowl vent tubes are present and intact.Broken Choke Thermostat Cap: The round, black plastic choke thermostat cap on the side of the housing is broken/damaged and will need to be replaced by the buyer during the rebuild.Sold AS-IS for Rebuild/Restoration: This unit is being sold strictly AS-IS for parts, rebuild, or a full professional restoration. It has not been tested on a running vehicle. It features a beautiful, uncleaned "barn find" vintage patina.Best of My Knowledge / Final Sale: All information listed here is provided strictly to the best of my knowledge and visual inspection. As a non-expert, I may have missed a minor internal clip, screw, washer, or specific component. Please study the high-resolution photos closely, as what you see in the pictures is exactly what you will receive. No warranties are expressed or implied, and all sales are final. These authentic HiPo C3OF-AJ carbs with their original factory date tags are incredibly difficult to find intact. This is the ultimate starting core for a high-end Shelby or K-Code build
