was there any difference between the '65 and '66 carb's?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/196…=item20b1ab1711
thanks

i don't realy understand these points of reference.
at least i can get the ones from the 'baseline'
i can't believe they acutally measured s.t.
without using fractions
iowa
where is this datum hole?
iowa
i have called dynacorn
and requested exact dimensions of their floor repro
i'll be excited to see what i get.
guess i'll have to crawl under my son's car
and take some measurements
and see how they line up with mine
iowa
also, the measurement across the rear
of the front inner rails is listed as 19.84
and mine is ~ 35"!!!!!!!
i see that the width across the front
of the rear inner rails is 37.62 and this is okay
wow!
surely, someone has picked up these discreptancies
and posted a thread about them
would like to have correct dimensions before
i build my subframe jig
iowa
i have a question about the dimension diagram on pg 17-7
in the 65 owner's manual
(hopefully i am not imfringing on any copyright laws here,
and if i am, i will delete the pic)
there are 3 basic lengths in this diagram
73.78 48.50 and 46.50
but......the end one ie 46.50 is drawn as longer
then the middle one (48.50) on the diagram!!!!!!!
it is obviously not drawn to scale
but see no markings indicating this!!
what's the deal?
thanks

i'll do just that
iowa
the date on my VIN plate is 19M
...so Dec 19, 1964
so the above sytems have the 'H' section?
or do these have to be bought separately?
iowa
how and where would i find an exhaust system
that would replicate the originals?
iowa
sorry
these are one of several sets on e bay
iowa
[Blocked Image: http://www.surfacezero.com/g503/data/500/K_exhaust_copy.jpg]
are these the right exhaust
for the K code's?
thanks
iowa
is the NOS clutch disk still available?
if so, i'll take it

i may rig up some kind of a 'U' shaped bracket
that i can fit around the coil on each side
and then screw into drilled and tapped holes
in the metal bars that i used.
then, at least, they won't come flying out at me
compelled by 500lb of force.
also, the threaded rods are only good for use
as couple of times because they are stripped
being dragged thru the metal bar holes.
i also thot of using about a dozen vice grips
to compress the coils,
but it didn't work very well.

caspian65
it's nice to hear you say the above
i was loosing sleep worring about
using a few repro parts in my '65 FB.
i want to make it a daily driver
at least for the next 3 years before
my son goes off to college.
(he's driving a '66 coupe C-code right now)
i'd rather wreck a repro floor
then an original one.
i will keep every original part
and look for a good original floor;
but keep them in storage....
and someday....in my old age...
i may get inspired and do a concours
restro like your convertible.
iowa
'natural' ?
mine looked like they
just picked up scraps
and machined the holes
in the right places
iowa
hi jerry
i'm pretty green about these mustangs....
but my '65 FB doors had bolts w/stars
and turned into a simple 'scrap' metal plate
that simply fell to the floor when the bolts were out!
iowa
got your email and pics
i was very careful making sure the load was even etc.
will probably use your method to re assemble
thanks
dave
here is how i removed the coils

i understand that it is an 8"

i do have the original backing plates
and everything outward
