All of the early ones that I have seen (including ones as late as May 17th, 1965) are the "two line" configuration. I assume they moved to the type that Dave posted sometime after that.
Here is the one from my Convertible with a July 23, 1964 date:

The stripes on the hoses are something that we observed on originals. Apparently they signified the particular manufacturer. We just decided to try and duplicate these.

First, thanks so much for posting the diagram and the photo.
From the documention though, it appears that there was a different accel. rod listed for the auto. trans. vs. the manual trans. Your diagram appears to be an auto. trans. The manual trans. diagram is different from your picture also:

That brings up another question, in all of my documentation, a manual choke (like your picture) was never used.

We now have the early version of the HiPo Equalizer Bars in stock. I compared it to the original on my August 10th Dearborn Convertible and was very impressed with the part.

I looked closely at my shock tower to firewall braces. They are original to my car, and there has been a screw only in the front hole. You can tell that there has never been a screw in the hole closest to the firewall. It is a Dearborn - Aug. '64 production car.

Believe the correct screws will depend on the assembly plant. Found 'D' on Dearborn cars and 'CF' on San Jose. I'm not so sure that the original straps were simply cut/made from radiator hose. Might have been similar material, but the original ones I've seen are not smooth.

I'm interested in any more observations on original cars. I've seen restored cars with one screw holding the strap in the front hole, one screw holding the strap in the back hole (like John's pictures), and two screws-one in each hole holding both ends of the straps.
...or maybe not all HiPo's even had the strap?
Does anyone have a picture of an original accelerator rod for the 3 X 2 Carb. set up for a '65 Mustang with a manual transmission?
There was a "Accelerator Kit" for this induction kit. Ford part number was C5ZZ-9B843-A. The kit consisted of 1 C4RA-9A701-B Accelerator Rod (bellcrank to accel. shaft) and 1 B7A-9826-A Clip.
I'm guessing it will be tough to find an original, so I would just like to see an original to copy/fabricate.

Sometime in the future I am going to have to replace the windshield on two of my cars. I have two friends faced with the same replacement. There seems to be no problem with glass suppliers putting the correct markings on the windshield but one potential problem has surfaced. I don't know of the validity of this but the report is that because of federal regulations and/or new manufacturing techniques, the new glass is thinner than the original. Has anyone found this to be true? If so, how much thinner? Does it make a difference as in sealing?

We just put one in a '65 Convertible. The glass is probably a bit thinner, but it presents no problems. Sealing is a mess on any of them, but again, no problems.

I don't know that anyone will be able to supply an exact date. I do know that the wire clamps started showing up on the '66 GT350's by March '66-probably earlier.
