You cannot evaluate the value rationally based on restoration cost. If we did that nothing would get restored. It costs the same to restore a T code as it does a K code for 95% of the work.

People like undiscovered, unmolested projects. And they pay for them if they have good owner history and documents.

Any complete K code fastback that is not a rust bucket with the proper components will be worth $15,000-$23,000.

Lots of people have money for a project car. Plus they get to do it their way. that is why you scratch your head sometimes at the prices paid.

Finished car, especially those that were restored serveral years ago are COMING DOWN in value. The market is weak.

This comes from buying and selling classics everyday all day. Not from arms length observation of eBay.

Prices are OK on the best cars. Mediocre cars, cars without paperwork or original drivetrain, color change cars etc are weaker than the past. Cars ARE not jumping at the same rate as the spring/early summer of 2006.

I will try to attend. On another note, I finally have two cars that are pretty much done that could use the billboards you make. I am taking them to the Mecum Auction in May, does that give you enough time?

Just noticed the non-GT part. Deduct accordingly.

We have the ability to handle your restoration here as we move into a larger facility. Body and paint work is done exclusively by the world famous "Ring Brothers" Instead of the typical one man restoration, contract out certain parts such as body and paint, and motor build to pedigreed shops. The rest we can handle.

Here is a ball park of what to expect

$20,000 in body in paint is probably the light end.

$7000-8000 in engine transmission and rear axle rebuild

$3000 interior

$2000 suspension and brakes

$1000 in wheels and tires

$1000 convertible top

Disassembly and reassembly at $50 per hour

The market is NOT strong right now. Excellent cars will always bring good money. Cars that have issues...will linger. A car without it's proper short block will linger.

I love the color, it is my favorite BUT...the market does not like Springtime Yellow. It will bring 15% less than red, black or blue.

Watch the market guys...it is slipping and is stagnant at the moment. The seasons do not affect this...seasons do not affect the worldwide demand. That said, your K car is nice. I am in the market right now for a few cars. If you want it sold, call me.

I would be interested in the car. Not at $17,000 though. For a quick sale at price commensurate with the fact the car is K engineless...I am an easy quick buyer. Call me if you are interested.

I have been on both ends of the stick several times. Meaning, I have made an agreement, only to be sold out for a few dollars in the end.

From a sellers perspective, I have also been "Guaranteed Payment" only to have the buyer disappear. It has altered my methods slightly....but I continue to do business like I would expect myself.

I come across many K codes so if you are looking for a specific example, let me know. I am working on a couple K cars at the moment.

Neat car. The 1 of 1 gets thrown around a little too much for my taste, since you can break any car down to a 1 of 1. That point doesn't sell your car....the Candy Apple Red K code sells your car.

Well...I certainly don't mind calling that engine compartment UGLY with that monster hose routing. And I don't intend to edit the post.

I have never seen a vin on the mating surface, they are always on the rough cast part towards the front of the motor. If you don't see it...look again, scrub harder, get out the super high power flashlight or some silly putty. If it is original...the number will be there.

Your car if presented properly should bring in the $20K range. $25-30...unlikely...but I can see it bringing $20,000

I sold the car to the current seller. The car is a very solid, matching numbers K code GT. The body is solid, though the description is a bit optimistic. It needs paint bad, as well as interior work. The drivetrain is tight and it runs and drives very well.
