Yes, I would get a title. Something like this is a hard call based on value, time, and cost. If I calculate out the cost of parts needed does it make this worth $800,the $2000, or would I have to pay $3000 online- I'm not really sure if I would ge getting a good deal in this economy.

I have been offered a 65 fastback k-code- kind of. It is the front clip in one piece and the roof in another. The rusted out/destroyed rear half and floor are not included and there's no k-code specific parts except the sway bar. I've seen the values of complete rollers drop pretty bad over the last couple years but have no idea what something like this is worth these days? I'm probably going to pass on it unless I can get more of whats left which isn't likely. What are your thoughts on a value/price??

Hi Fred,I am trying to figure out what the difference is- mainly the frame. I have a number of complete quarter glass units that were mixed together over the years and know I'm not sure which ones are correct for my convertible- are there different part numbers? Thanks again.

I wouldn't mind finding a nice late 65 or early 66 motor also but isn't that engine on ebay high on price since its missing a lot of the hipo parts. If the block and head dates matched it would be a little better. I spoke to him months ago on it and figured I could built the same engine with the same misc date coded parts for half the price.

Thats funny, I never really noticed it so I asked. I guess its part of the webpage backgroup and was the only automotive looking background template available. You can change other pictures but not that because its the template. I guess a couple people emailed him about parts so he was pretty happy.

I told him if he consigns any HIPO parts to post those actual parts with pictures on his site and I would let people know for first dibs here. He will drive customers to this website for hipo specific cars/parts since he doesn't have many hipo specific parts (mainly steering boxes, sway bars etc).

I once had three project k-code cars and now I don't have any. I am trying to put a collection of cars together that I have once owned or may have even knew about. I am looking to purchase fastback 6R09K198948. If you have it let me know. I would also pay a finders fee if it led to a purchase. I don't have any history on it anymore- it could be restored, a junker or destroyed at this point. I have thrown down the challenge to find it and who better then fellow k-coders- Happy Hunting!! Chris..

I have a 65 and a 66 stang and what I believe to be are front spindles from a 68 mustang. From what I can make out, the codes on all of them seem to range from c3 to c6***. Can I use 68 V8 spindles on a 65 or 66 mustang- are they are direct replacement as far as bearings, drums etc are concerned? Whats different? These are non-k-code cars but I doubt that makes a different if your just talking spindles and not drums. I welcome anyone thoughts- Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. I think its a true at idle oil pressure issue and based on how original everything is I would guess its never been opened up at maybe 130k miles (can't remember the exact miles). The previous owner of the car said I could drop it back in and still use it but I wouldn't want to risk burning the engine out. I have two 65 K fastbacks without the engines and one coupe that is apart but has all the original parts including the stamped motor. I originally bought the coupe to put the engine in my fastback but am feeling guilty about possibly ruining a solid complete original project car. The engine should probably be rebuilt to be sure and the car kept intact. Who know's, I may just end up selling this k-coupe so I can build a replacement engine and paint the fastback so I won't feel like I ruined a potentially nice original k-coupe!

By the way- this site has been a great source of information- Thanks to all who contribute!

My 65 K motor doesn't burn oil, smoke and idles well but it does have poor oil pressure at idle (can't remember what is was as the engine is now out of the car but the filter screen was clear, correct oil used etc). I asked a local shop in Connecticut about just replacing the bearings and they wouldn't reassemble the parts unless I did the whole bottom end. I am worried about the impact of the originality of the motor replacing the cam and pistons which is what they do when they are in there. What have people done with their K- engines here- do most people have to replace the internals, would I be loosing important #'s originality, if so how important is it really? Thanks for your feedback.
