4G28 is July 28, 1964 (date block was cast)
4H19 is August 19, 1964 (if stamped into the block it is most likely the date the engine was assembled)
Both look good for a October 1964 car
Just made my donation. I hope I don't win. I am trying to get rid of my stuff so I can buy a farm in the country so I can teach my 6 kids and 7 grandkids there is more to life than TV, Nintento and Wii - whatever that is.
It was the ONLY thing I found. Is this the RPM Bob Mannel from this site. If so, Kudos to Bob. Great Information!
You guys on this site are Top-Notch!
Thanks,
Darrell
Is the 550-C published anywhere? I know of a 550-B and a 550-J engine code but 550-C seems like an odd-ball code to me.
But I think you are right. By the date code, it has to be a D code 4V.
I have a 4V intake with an engine tag on it. The numbers are:
289 65 1
4-G 550-C
Is 550-C a 4V manual transmission engine code?
I have a nice 1965 jack handle for sale on Ebay. Selling no reserve. Auction ends Nov. 30. See link below if interested. I give a 10% discount (on part, not shipping) to eKschange members.

Hi
I just wanted to remind everyone I am giving a 10% discount (on the part, not the shipping) to eKschange members who buy ANY of my parts on Ebay, whether it is a HiPo part or not.
I had an eKschange member buy a part from me and he didn't claim the 10% discount. Fortunately, I knew he was a member so I will be giving him a 10% refund.
However, I do not know all the eXschange members. So if you are the winning bidder, please email me after the auction so I can give you the discount.
If any member has already bought and paid for an item and didn't claim the discount, please email me and I will give you a refund.
I know 10% isn't much, but maybe it will buy you a cup of coffee.
Thanks, Darrell (oldcarnutty)
Here is one of my NOS Pistons

I surley didn't expect it to be put in the registry!
I just wish I knew the history of the tranny. But I guess it will just have to be put on my list of things I will never know the answer to.
I appreciate all the thoughts of the expert eKschange members. You guys are Great!
Darrell
Well, sounds like the VIN was 5F09K310812 something. I checked Tony's 4th revision and no VIN's close to it. Doesn't mean the original car isn't out there somewhere. I sure like matching# Kars.
Maybe the stamper had a Yuengling Stubby in his lunch pail
I looked at the stamping. It is definately a 6.
Any other theorys besides Charlie's?
By the way I need to correct my earlier post. My Dad would not have used a Coke bottle. It most likely would have been a Yuengling Stubby.

Interesting theory. I'm not smart enough to even dream something like that up. Tired, we have all been there. Disgruntled? Now that brings back fond memories of my blue collar working DAD. I could see good old DAD doing something like that! NO - He would of been more likely to tie a Coke bottle inside a quarter panel or something like that.
Chuck
I had included a PIC of the stamping on the HEH T transmission, but it must not be linking up right. It appears to be a VIN, as it is in the usual place on the tranny. But the number makes no sense to me!

They do look good don't they?
I bought these heads years ago from a guy that built race engines professionally. I have not touched the heads, so I don't have a clue what he put on them. He was pretty meticulous, so I imagine he put something on them to protect them.
BY THE WAY I AM GIVING A 10% DISCOUNT TO ANY e HiPo Mustang eXschange Member who buys any of my parts. BUT please let me know you are a member if you make any offers on anything.
Regards,
Darrell
I am selling some HiPo parts on Ebay under my Ebay name oldcarnutty if anyone is interested.

WOW! A NOS HIPO block. I thought I was the only one in the world who had one of those. Mine was discussed on this forum before.

I've sold 3 cars, 57 Nomad, 65 Mustang Fastback and a 65 K code coupe and some parts to some mates in OZ. PayPal works (does the currency conversion) or I have the money wired directly into my bank account ($12 bank fee). Buyer, or Buyer's bank does the currency conversion. In addition to providing my account number and my banks routing number, I provide the Buyer with a telephone number at my bank in case the Buyer or Buyer's bank has a question regarding the wire transfer.
I usually tell the buyers that as long as I receive payment, I will keep the car or parts for them as long as they need me to. (I also keep the cars insured until they are picked up by the transport company!) I do this for the buyers because it is cheaper for the buyers to fill a shipping container, then to ship each item separately.
Sometimes overseas Buyers come over to the US and spend a month buying cars and parts to fill one or more containers. So if your buyer is doing this, you might want to tell him what else you and your mates have for sale.
One of the mustangs I sold currently is in China, as the container is being taken off of one ship and will be loaded on another ship. Apparently this is not unusal when the car is being shipped from the East Coast.
If you are selling on EBAY and want to sell to OZ, make sure your bidding requirements doesn't block international bidders. Sometimes they snipe (bid the last few seconds)and they won't be able to if you have them blocked, which means less $ to you.
Remember for OZ contacts:
Boot = trunk
Bonnet = hood
I'm sure some of the OZ members can add to this list!
If you ship a car, you will need to provide a title in your name. I also do a bill of sale. You will have to provide your SSN on the export paperwork. So don't be surprised when whoever is doing the export paperwork asks for you SSN. It is required by Federal Law.
