Jim thanks for the input. My glove box does not have the holes shown in the NPD picture (nor does it have the clip). So it must have been replaced at some point with a 65 glove box.

Does anyone have a photo to share re where the Emergency Flasher in the glovebox is attached? Also was there a bezel for the switch in 1966?

My NOS Service Replacement Block was discussed on this forum at the link below. It had no evidence of orange paint as you would have in a factory installed HIPO. However it did have a faint white HP lettering on the back of the block.

Marv,
Wish you hadn't locked the original topic, but I understand why you cleaned it up then locked it. I would like to have responded to the last comment by JKWILSON.
No sir, I respectfully beg to differ. This is what keeps new details hidden away!
Rest assured, I will keep my mouth closed and information to myself in the future!
I for one truly appreciate what JKWILSON has shared and hope he continues to share info, especially those with Photos!

This Forum has some of the best information and advice available. It is extremely beneficial to amateurs like myself. I've been so impressed that a while back I made a $ contribution to help in the costs of operating this site. BUT,
SOME OF THE COMMENTS MADE IN THE POSTS ABOVE ARE NOT WARRANTED!
Come on guys, you (and this forum) are better than this.

IMHO this appears to be a NOS service replacement engine. Obviously whoever buys it will have to go through it. So, my request is this. If an eKschange member buys this, PLEASE POST SOME PICS of what is inside. I would like to know if there is a HP marking on the back of the block and whether there is a polished area on the rear counterweight of the crankshaft etc.
My NOS HIPO service replacement block had the HP marking, but there was not a polished area on the crankshaft. It has been discussed on this forum. See link below.

Condensation tends to drip from the top down which could end up making the carb look better than the rest of the engine. But what do I know?

Looks like it has a Ford Motor Company tag on it. Of course I don't see as well as I used to!

Thanks for the info. I wondered what the significance of the 245 was.
I sure it is probably rusty inside, but you never know!

A new topic has already been started on this engine. See link below:

Any thoughts on this being an actual NOS HIPO engine?

Check your hoses. Sometimes they look fine on the outside, but have corroded on the inside. If they are corroded (like an artery) on the inside, it will cause havoc with your system pressure.

I made a donation last year after I almost purchased a questionable Kar. Again, thanks to all the input I received from the eKschange members and a special thanks to the site hosts. My donation was a decent donation, but still small compared to the value of the information I have received from this site (and small compared to the mistake I almost made on the Kar purchase). We all need to pay our fair share, in $ form AND in sharing of information.

Back on Craigslist also:

Has anyone ever seen one of these on a Mustang?
I think they are cool for a Big Ford. But I don't think I would put it on any of My Mustangs.

I just sold my last NOS one on Ebay via No Reserve Auction. The final bid was $102.50. So it lookw like $99 is a fair price.
