Way cool!! I wish my Kar was that easy to take apart and put back together again. Would make this whole rebuild process a lot more pleasent!
Thanks for the video.

I know this is gonna hurt, but I'll ask anyway. My Kar was in really bad shape when I got it. Long story short, needed to replace both rear frame rails. I didn't realize at the time, but the body shop that did the work did not transfer the crush tubes when they put the new frame rails in. Now here's the part that's gonna hurt. Does anyone have a spare set of these, or have the diagram of what they look like so I can fabricate? I've looked at the pics you guys have provided, and they are very helpful, but not enough for me to build them if I have to. Kar sat for many years while I built up my funds. Body shop is long gone, as are the old parts. Any help is appreciated.

Well here we go,
I've been searching the forum, and can't seem to find this topic listed anywhere. Maybe I missed it. I see a lot of jacks listed on Ebay as being the correct jack for Mustangs. I know that some of these jacks are not. There are two types that I am aware of, but have not been able to decipher the approximate date that the second style of jack was cut in. The first type has solid blocks for the jack screw. The second has U-shaped brackets with welded nuts. Can anyone tell me which jack is correct for what years?

Hey Hank,
It sounds like you need a secretary!

I don't think so. It was on the retainer nut side, but instead of just a retainer, there was a 1/2" long adjustment screw protruding from the center of the end cap that could be adjusted with a flat head screwdriver. I added a picture of a stock '69 prop valve and annotated with the arrow where the adjustment mech was at. See pic below.

It didn't look like a mod. Although there was a lot of road grime on it.

Hey Guys,
I was just walking around a bone yard today and saw something that puzzled me. I saw a '69 or '70 (couldn't tell since most of car was gone) Grande coupe with what appeared to be a factory adjustable proportioning valve in it. Every other valve I've seen from this era was a fixed valve. This thing looked just like the fixed valve, but on the end it had an adjustment screw sticking out. Anyone have any ideas about this?

Sorry,
This was posted in the wrong spot. Moved it to general disKussion.

I wish my wife shared your sentiment!!

Hey 66GTK,
There were two things that saved me. First, the guy was in a pickup that was high enough that it cleared the tank. It actually sheared the mounting screws off and the tank landed on the ground like it just dropped out of the trunk.
The second thing was I had just (and I mean JUST) filled up the tank. Gasoline won't explode, but gas vapor does. Since there was limited space in the tank for vapor, there was nothing to explode.
Someone was definitely looking out for me that day.

Thanks for the comments guys. The car is in my garage now on jackstands. I have done some more work on the suspension, gas and brake lines, etc. I'll get some pics and update the website soon.

I've had good luck getting sheetmetal parts from donor cars at Colorado Mustang. They really helped me with a decklid filler panel for my '66 FB. Here's the link.

Hi Everyone,
Just put together a website with pictures of my restoration project. Got some pics of my first fastback, as well as the story behind what happened to it. Let me know what you guys think. I'll add more info and updates when I can.

That's what I figured too. I just thought I would mine some of the knowledge here first before I tried to "engineer" something. Thanks again for the help.

Thanks Jim,
Actually what I was referring to is the gaskets between the plastic slider and the metal frame. Each metal panel has two openings that allow air to escape when the plastic slider is moved to the open position. Around each of the openings on the metal panel, there is a soft rubber gasket that seals the staionary metal panel, and the movable plastic panel. Those are the gaskets I need. The original ones are in pretty bad shape.
Thanks,
Blue
Hey there Guys,
Been a while since I posted. Wondering if anybody know of a source for quarter vent gaskets for the '65 and '66 fastbacks. Finally got to the point where I'm re-assembling the interior, and mine need freshening up. I checked all my normal sources, but could not find any. Any help you guys can provide is GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Blue
