$18 K for a nice driver 66 KGT coupe. 3rd member and dist. are not original. Carb. needs to be sent to pony and brakes need some work. Small rust spot in one door. I had the car on a left. There is no rust underneth and no sign of any body damage. Kar was painted and interior was replaced 15 yers ago. It's dark green with a black interior, 4spd with a 8k rally pack. With todays prices should I be fitted for a stright jacket or hand cuffs.

I had a front brake hose look new on the out side but be pluged up on the inside. I would replace the hoses. I've heaard the rubber breaks down over time and will cause the inside of the hose to become plugged.
Larry
Welcome, To many questions left unanswered. What body style, How complete and original, and is it a CJ or a SCJ, 4 spd or auto?
Larry
I don't think so, but I am not sure what you are talking about. I will try to take some photos in the morning. Then you can look for yourself. Is there anything else you need photos of?
Larry
Opps looks like Mr. Mannel has answered you question on the Fairlane sight.
So what do you-all think this car is worth. I have a deal worked on a 66 that is almost the exact car. It's a excelent driver that could use some cosmetics. Small rust spots in door. No rust anywhere else. All Hipo parts are there and except the fan and dist. are original to the car.
I glue the cork gaskets to the block with 3M weather strip adhesive. Let set. Then put a thin coat of silicone on top and dabs at the corners. The weather strip adhesive keeps the cork in place till the silicone sets.

Sounds like there were few suprises. I posted a want add on the FCA fourms for a pulley.
Took mine out for a drive today. A lot of fun but not the same as a Mustang.

Quote from garymcgowanLarry are your floor boards painted the same color as the interior or the outside body?
Thanks,
Gary
Sorry but the original carpet has never been out of the car and I have no plans of pulling it out anytime soon. The car still has it's original paint and interior. The hardest thing about owning it is not doing anything to it.
I guess you are on pins and needles waiting. I know the suspence would be killing me.
Larry
Ya Ya Ya, That's a nice car, but we are expecting to see picts of your car this morning. Just kidding I figure if you car had arrived you wouldn't be surfing the net.

From the FCA web sight dated 8-12-07
"Have an original radiator and generator /pulley with brackets off 63-64 Hipo Fairlane for sale.E-mail me at... spike427@hotmail.com "
Good Luck
Larry
My pulley is 4 9/32 inches. The single exaust is not that bad. It's 2 1/2 inches in dia. and has a unique sound. The guy I bought my 63 from was going to change to duels. Till he found a C3 part # on the Y-pipe and realized most of the exaust is original.
It's great to see so much excitement over a Fairlane here.
Larry
You are right about the pulley. I am kinda spoiled. The Kar was complete when I got it. Thanks fot the kind words on my 63.
Larry
Sorry to hear that. Good luck in your search.

Quote from garymcgowanDoes anyone know where I can get a generator? I don't think my car has one on it.
Thanks for the help Larry and if you could post some pics of your car I would appreciate it.
If you arn't a member yet, now would be a good time to join FCA, Fairlane Club of America. They have a web sight just for members with parts for sale/wanted section. The web sight alone is worth the cost to join. The generator may be avalible through Napa. The hard part may be getting the brackets.
For more picts of my Fairlane, click on the link below my sig. It will take you to a article on my 63 in the may 04 Legendary Fords Magazine. A few things may be strange to a K code mustang owners, I know they were to me. 63 K codes came with a automatic choke and a dumby vacume advance. Not sure about 64s.
Larry
My 63 has a red oxide under body. The ext. paint is enamel. The interior paint on my car looks to be laquer. The engine should be black and valve covers gold. On a 63 the air cleaner top is gold too. Not sure about a 64.
Congratulations on your purchase. If it had been closer I would have been interested.
Larry
I have had got luck cleanihg with Simple Green and spraying with WD40 afterward.
Larry
I think a early Cobra owner would be proud to find one!
Larry
Sorry, but the home work should have been done before the bid. I think you sould pay the man the money and start enjoying the car. When I bought my 66 Shelby it had the Ford VIN on the block. I was real disappointed to find out it wasn't the original engine. It didn't even have Hipo rods in it. I have been having a blast with it ever since.
