Was undecided between red line radials and BF Goodrich TA's for my 65 rangoon red GT K-code fastback. Just when I decided to go red line I see this kar. WOW!...beautiful. Now I am undecided once again. A white 8k rally pack would really set this kar off.....Ed

Hi Noelfisher...I always go for NOS or original used when available. After that I go to NAPA for availability before the Mustang houses. I find NAPA products to be high quality at resonable prices. Their shocks, for example, have a close structural appearance to the originals and give a smooth controlled ride. Hydraulic or gas...you choose. They are blue out of the box so I paint them black before installation. Wish I could find a good reproduction of the AUTOLITE decal which was used on the factory originals. Thanks...Ed

So, where do we get a reliable coil for driving? I'm going to guess that you will tell us it's NAPA (Echlin) since their other products, like distributors, are so good. Does anyone know? I've had a repop for a few years and have had no problems, but I'd rather not take a chance.

(One of the super guys on the site has my original, cause his car is concours.)

    Amen.

I to have had problems with buyers say yea I want the car but never come to see the car when they say they are. And then they call after two or three weeks and ask if the car is still for sale. I never try to talk a person into buying my vehicle. I had nine people wanting to look at my K's and no one showed up.If the buyer doesn't want to take the time to look thats there problem not mine. My one K sold to a guy that got my name from an X employee. He had no idea about hipomustang.com. He put a large down payment, and wanted to pick the car asap. I to have had cars sold out from under me even have paid a deposit. And I would have paid more for the car.The moral of the store is buy the car right then and now and take it home with you. Don't hesitate or you will regrete it. I learned a long time ago not to make promises to someone that has NOT made up there mind. The K Mustang's are a HIGH Interest Car.So if you want one you BETTER MOVE ON IT NOW not later. Remeber one in the hand is better than two in the bush!!!!!! Just my 2 cents. Ron

Thanks for all your e-mails and calls inquiring about my Mustang. The day after I posted my thoughts on selling I decided to do so and I got a buyer that day. The sale is in process. If it does not work out, I will notify those who expressed interest and made offers. Thanks again.......Ed

Well...My wife and I are buying an 1898 Victorian home to restore. We

also decided to do some traveling. There are only so many hours to the day. I don't want my pony just sitting in the garage. I am giving you folks the heads up before I advertise in the Spring, should I decide to do so. After a lifetime of Mustangs and now, finally owning a K-code, this will not be easy for me. But enough of that. For those who are not familiar with my kar....1965 K-code GT Fastback. Factory correct Rangoon red with black pony interior. Original rebuilt drivetrain, carb, distributor, fan,AX steering box, disc brakes etc. Complete restoration finished in 2006 to MCA driving class requirements. Approx. 900 miles since completion. Engine rebuilt with hardened valve seats to accept unleaded fuel. 3.50 9" rear. Has styled steel wheels and original rally pac that works but not that accurate. Don't have to tell you guys how fast this pony is and what a blast it is to drive. I would be happy to e-mail pictures to you and answer your questions if you are interested. The price is $49,000. Serious inquiries only. Thanks...Ed

Welcome to our site Gary and congrats on your K code purchases! Ed

Hello All..... I am new to the site and would like to thank all the posters for some great information. I did a lot of reading before buying two K codes last week. One is a coupe and one is a FB. The FB has a Hurst Shifter and I would like to get an original Ford shifter for it. If anyone has one for sale or knows of one please let me know.

Thanks again for all the help I received from your post.

I'm glad I bought my white one a few years ago. CJ Pony Parts current catalog description of part "FPB" is "65 WHT W/RED SCRIPT". The photo at their online store shows the red one, but the description says something like "Red Script". You may want to call them, just in case... 1-800-888-6473

    b9folk...good info....Thanks.....Ed

Don't worry B9folk.....There are lots of confusing things about early Mustangs and early cars in general. Things were not set in stone back then. We all go through this. I give alot of credit to the 289 High Performance Mustang people. They are tackling a subject with limited information. Lots of records have been lost. Learn all you can about your car, digest it, portray it as best you can and most of all...take time to enjoy what you have. ED
