My apologies as I know this is really off any kar topic.
I just have to express my excitement that after 15 months in Iraq, my son is starting his trip home today!
It will be good to have him back on USA soil.
Thanks for forum.

I am wanting to finance some things on my 07 GT by moving some spare hipo parts, but I am not sure where to start price wise. Here is what I plan on selling first:
2 heads. Both with 19. One 7E8 and one 7E11. Both would need to be restored. Both are C7ZE.
Crankshaft. I don't know where to look for a part number or date code on this so if someone could tell me I will get that info out there too.
8 connecting rods with Ford pistons. I still have to find these in my mess.
I will also post pictures when I list the parts.
Any help that you can give would be appreciated. I will offer all hipo specific parts here first as I feel they should be in an enthusiasts hands.
Also the weather in the St. Louis area is fantastic today. No humidity! Woo Hoo!! Took the K Kar out for a ride with my bride today and had a blast.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

My eldest son is in Baghdad right now. He wants to get a fox body Mustang when he gets home next September.
This made me cry.

We had a great time! Only saw one Mustang in Ireland and one current Shelby in South London in a rental lot.
Sorry for the large photos, but tinypic is not co-operating.

<font face='Comic Sans MS'></font id='Comic Sans MS'>After 3 long years of restoration the kar is finally home! I will post more pics later on as I want to go over it with a fine tooth comb and make sure all is well.
This is a photo of my 2007 hipo 281 and my 1965 hipo 289. More to follow soon![Blocked Image: http://i28.tinypic.com/2ds1ca8.jpg]
<font face='Comic Sans MS'></font id='Comic Sans MS'><font size=4></font id=size4> O.K. for everyone that has ever seen "The Money Pit" with Tom Hanks and Shelly Long you will understand that "my two weeks" has finally arrived! The rear end noise is gone, the paint has been fixed and it just needs a final cleanup before it is mine again.
My question though is, what old parts are worth keeping? I have a lot of stuff that I just bought repos of because the cost was cheaper than re-chroming, etc. For instance, I have the original seat backs that are "Quality Control Certified Sep 26, 1964" they aren't in terrible shape, but not really nice enough to put in my newly restored car. Should I keep them for posterity? See if someone else can use them? I don't know, but I DO know that my wife will want a pretty good explanation if I keep a bunch of old parts around!!
I have the old bumpers, intake, starter, oil pump, tail lights, etc, etc, etc. I really don't want to keep much of it but will anyone else want it either?
Sorry for my rambling, but my wife will want to know!!
Your advice and suggestions will be appreciated.
Thank you,
David K

Here are some more shots taken today 4/25/08.
The rear end is still "whining", so I wait some more for that to be fixed....
Still needs final sand and buff.

A little before action.
<font face='Comic Sans MS'></font id='Comic Sans MS'>Well, here goes..
Some before and after shots. I will add more if this is successful. I should get the Kar next week.
And yes, the engine should be black. I like blue.
It is not a GT, 1964 21K build date on data tag. I like the exhaust trumpets.
There may be other things not exactly right, but I plan on driving this kar (me and my wife's mid-life crisis)!!

Well, after many years of sitting in the driveway, garage, Mom's garage, etc. And after 3 long years of restoration, I finally got to take my "new" kar for a ride yesterday (5/15/08)!!! What a thrill. I should get the kar back for good within a couple of weeks and will attempt to post some pics. It really looks great.
(early 65 Fastback K car)
