Should be interesting. Wonder if it was a Ford Australia Right hand conversion. The factory A/Cond is a bit of a worry though. Maybe I should try and check it out myself, time permitting.
Brett, good luck with you're project. Although, if it was me, I'd be setting aside the Selby bits for a future Selby Clone project. Just build up the Re-Bodied K as Ford would have sold it.
Just my Opinion. Tony
I just might Print and frame these photo,s.
To me Brett comes across as a true lover of classics with a passion and skill for restoring them. At the end of the day, it's his car, his title and as long as it's not illegal he can do what he wants. Brett has offered full discloser and to post vin on our site. After all isn't that one of the reasons this site exists, to check history of K's on the registry that come up for sale? Please, let's not scare people like Brett off as this will result in a K coming on the market one day which we know nothing about.
Cheers, Tony
Hi Tim,
Was just surfing the Aussie ebay and came across brand new Kelsey Hayes Disc rotors fr 65 66 Stang. Asking $300.00 Aus and located in Brookvale Sydney. Hear is the link.

Hi,
For my two cents worth. I believe in keeping as original as possible. I've had my 65 k coupe for approx 2 years and am always on the look out for those bits that will make it more original. I would never, for example replace my standard upholstery for pony interior, or install a/cond or pwr steer as I believe these would devalue the car. Having said that, the car was originally vintage burgundy and is currently poppy red. In the near future I intend re-painting the car and am seriously contemplating poppy red again as I like this colour more than vintage burgundy. I don't think this will devalue the car as poppy red was a period colour. It certainly didn't deter me from buying the car.
Cheers, Tony
I am probably way off on this one, but I also had a vibration in steering when I purchased my 'K', along with steering being harder to turn than it should be. Found that someone had installed the clutch spring incorrectly and it was rubbing up against the Pitman arm. Installed the spring properly and it hasn't bothered me since. You're problem may be similar or totally different, but it's always good to look for the simple solution first.
Thanks Guys,
Very valuable info. Think I'll tackle Lifters this weekend with cold engine. I was dreading doing them hot, but I'm now convinced that Cold is the way to go.
Cheers, Tony
I,ve been contemplating the same thing. I think that a baked enamel would do the job well. Have to check if it will fit in the oven. Probably best done when the wife is at work.
Cheers, Tony
Hi Mick,
If it helps, I live in Wollongong and you're welcome to come over, we'll remove mine and place them side by side. Distance permitting of course.
Cheers, Tony
P.S. the Beer fridge is in the garage too.
Thanks Dave V. Mine was missing the plastic bushing, I,ve bought a new one, but have been putting off changing it. Think I'll change it tomorrow now I know the easy way.
Cheers,
Tony
OK, my K is starting to sound like a tap dancer on heat. I figure it's time to adjust the lifters. Not the first time I've adjusted solid lifters but that was on BMC motors. Would appreciate any input from those with more experience on K motors.
thanks,
Tony
Great suggestions, that's what i like about this forum. Can i also suggest the possibility of a vacuum leak. i had a similar problem and found the gasket not sealing at the back of the intake manifold.
Tony
Could you please post dimensions for Aussie connection. Our plates tend to be of a different size.
thanks,
Tony
