    Salut Rick

As stated above, the consecutive number of this car places its production date well before the GT package made its appearance.

The door tag reads april 15th 65 as scheduled build date, which cannot be right, so chances are it is not the original tag.

Surely this car is not a factory GT, but it is not represented in the ad as being one, even if it now looks like one.

This car is now offered for sale in the Netherlands for 30k euros.

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>I dealt with a similar lack of integrity regarding another car from this forum about 2 months ago. The car was only 3 1/2 hours away from me and he knew that I was paying cash. He kept putting me off and then told me that he sold it to someone in Europe even though we had an agreement. Personally I believe that the guy was possibly misrepresenting the car and knew that I would pick up on it so he did not want me to see it. That is only a supposition but I really believe it to be true.

Fred, if the car you were after was the red 66 gt vert, then I must tell you that I am the culprit, and you were not lied to. I was waiting to see the car in person before posting about my buying it, but as the seller's reputation is being discussed, I have to jump in.

I am sorry you were disappointed, but he told you the absolute truth, and the car will be making its way to the Swiss alps shortly.

    Bienvenue !

This <b>K</b>lan is rich with highly <b>k</b>nowledgeable people who are very willing to share their science and experience.

Any question you may have will find its answer either in the 4th edition of Tony Gregory's book which you can order from this site, in the forum archives, or within a few hours of your posting it.

They want 35k euros for it, thats about 45k US, your price was bang on. I have seen a few pics, it looks real nice. As I said I am not too well versed in these later models, but it does look like it has been well taken care of.

Also there is this 69 R code on the big auction site item # 170073096515 which is located here in Lausanne, Switzerland. Is this a rare find ?

    Hi guys,

I don't know much about big block Mustangs, but I have the opportunity to get my hands on a 71 Boss 351 which looks to be in very nice shape. I understand these are pretty rare, just how desirable are they ? I am not such a fan of the shape but this seems like a true piece of American automotive history. What are they worth ?

    Thanks.

Pliers, a sheet of sandpaper, a small can of WD40, jump cables, towing rope, gloves, kitchen cloth or old tee shirt.

And in case you're headed outback, six pack of lager, spare shirt and underwear, signal flare, swiss army knife, and a pack of condoms !

OWN A PIECE OF TRUE AMERICAN AUTOMOTIVE HISTORY

You are bidding on one K Code 1965 Mustang Fastback that was recently saved from an almost 20 year hibernation in the 2nd owners garage. Yes you read correct, 2nd owner.

This Hi-Po Pony was last on the road on 1988. The old school wheels and interior brings back those memories of cruising on weekend nights with your High School buddies.

The engine is not locked up and turns free by hand.

As seen in the pictures, please expect normal rust in the quarters as all unrestored Mustangs have.

    <BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>On Jan-20-07 at 07:38:42 PST, seller added the following information:

The production date on this car is June 28, 1967 which is very late. This could be the LAST 289 HiPo Fastback produced

    <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

This 1967 restored Fastback was <b>NOT SOLD</b> by eBay seller "aboss429ataol" because the reserve was not met with a high bid of $37,100.00. There were 11 bidders and a total of 18 bids for this car before the auction ended.

    <b>DESCRIPTION</b>

This 1967 Ford Mustang GT Fastback is truly one of the RAREST Mustangs produced. This is a Factory "K" Code 289 High Performance ( also known as HiPo and Special). It is equipped with the 271HP 4V solid lifter engine, 4 speed toploader transmission, and 3.50 9 inch rear end. According to the Marti report, this is one of 205 1967 Mustangs with the K code engine and 4 speed toploader transmission. The 205 total production includes all body types including Fastback, Coupes and Convertibles.

This Mustang is equipped with the GT Package, Power Disc front brakes, 4 speed toploader transmission, and AM radio. It is Springtime Yellow with black standard interior and has the very desirable factory in-dash 8000 RPM tachometer with 120 MPH speedometer and the trip odometer. The non-HiPo Mustangs came with a 6000 RPM tachometer, but the HiPo's used the 8000 RPM version.

It has the GT Fog Light grill assembly and Pony Styled steel wheels with twin redline BF Goodrich Silvertown 660 tires, which are period correct. The car has undergone an extensive ground up restoration. Every nut and bolt was removed, and the body was put on a rotisserie and fully stripped down to the original metal. The underneath was sandblasted, and all rust was removed. New floorpans were installed. The entire bottom was painted with Red Oxide primer. New fuel lines from gas tank to engine, new fuel tank, and all new brake lines front to rear were installed.

The original rear housing was fully dissassembled and the 9 inch center section was fully rebuilt and detailed. New rear leaf springs, new axle bearings, and all new brake hardware was installed. The front Power Disc Brakes have the correct 4 piston calipers that were rebuilt with stainless sleeves, and NOS front disc brake rotors were installed. The power brake booster and master cylinder were rebuilt. It has new upper and lower control arms with new ball joints, new inner and outer tie rods ends, and new front strut bushings. The steering box was rebuilt.

The engine was fully rebuilt, and the shortblock balancing work, line boring, cylinder boring, and new cam bearing installation was performed by Philadelphia Racing Engines. The block, although not the original one from the car, has the heavy duty HiPo style main caps. It has new hypereutectic .030 pistons, and the correct style HiPo connecting rods and crankshaft. The HiPo cylinder heads are Ford service heads and have been fully rebuilt. It has a new mechanical lifter camshaft, new lifters, and a new timing chain and gear. It has the correct intake manifold, correct numbered Autolite 4V carburetor with manual choke, correct HiPo mechanical advance dual point distributor, and original HiPo harmonic balancer. It is topped off with new correct style chrome vlave covers and air cleaner.

This has original Ford Hipo exhaust manifolds, an NOS Ford HiPo exhaust H-pipe, and new dual exhaust system with the correct style rolled edge twin exhaust tips. The original 4 speed toploader transmission was fully rebuilt, as was the original Ford 4 speed shifter. A new clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing and all new clutch linkage was installed.

The bottom side of the car looks like it came off the showroom floor. The black standard interior was entirely refurbished with new carpets and underlayment, headliner, dashpad, seat covers, door panels, armrests and dash bezels. The exterior Springtime Yellow paint is beautifully offset with the lower Black GT stripes and all new exterior chrome. This stunning Mustang is truly one that appeals to the eye and will appreciate in value.

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>This is a 1965 Mustang Fastback K Code car with hipo 289 engine, top loader four speed. I have owned the car for 3 years. Vehicle was purchased in Maryland and brought to Georgia. Previous owner owned for 8 years. Restoration at that time included: 1/4 panels replaced, trunk pan replaced, wheels replaced (ordered through Ford). Shelby clone-look also done at time of restoration to include: stripe package, hood scoop, gas cap, 1/4 windows, sill plate, rally pack purchased online but wiring harness not installed (needs wiring harness). Since my ownership the Ford fourbarrel carb. replaced, and the interior has been changed from the medium blue to a blue/white Pony interior, carpet replaced at that time. Not shown in pictures are the center console, I do have the original with parts and a new console to go along with it. Other little accessories to go along with car. Mechanically the car is in perfect running condition. Driven only every couple of weeks to get time on it. Some shows and local events. Body and paint are in perfect condition except for small finger nail size blemish on passenger front fender. Only in the paint not into the body. Possibly could be wet sanded out, don't really have that knowledge. Car is garage kept and under a cover. I wouldn't part with this car but I'm looking to start a business.
