Can anyone tell me what is the correct part number for a July 1965 "K" engine with cast iron water pump?? I think I have a line on a correct pump from a member on here, but I need the timing cover as well.

I need to get my HYPO's toploader rebuilt/restored, who is the best for this? do they do the shifters as well?? or should it be done separately? will they do the correct phosphate & oil finish on the trans during the rebuild??

Item number 370016187472, C40E-A acording to Tony's book its for 289 hypo before August '64 its an aluminum pump, I don't think the seller knows exactly what he has, he has lots of water pumps for sale, I hope this helps someone!

First off I think you just adjust each one separately to the specified gap which if I remember right is 0.16?? someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I had also Emailed a little with Kurt of KP carbs over a year ago.
He is an Ex-Pony carb employee who stayed in New York when Pony moved to New Mexico.
I think he has the knoledge to do these carbs like Pony, but wonder if he is able to do the same quality job for his lower price??
I would be interested to hear how the carb performs running before I send mine in.

Guys, Just a short update: The Ebay seller of the quarters delivered them on Saturday to my restorer, and the head sheet metal guy inspected them and found them in perfect shape, and exactly what was advertised, and he was impressed too!! plus the seller called me to say everythink went ok and that the quarters were in fact delivered.
In case anyone wants to know the seller's name is Mike Kozar, of Lakewood, Ohio.

I wonder why this is?? I know it was there about a week before my recent donation just before Christmas.

Thanks for all the replies!! I've never heard anything about the POR line, so I think thats what I'm going to use.

I have recently donated to the site for both myself and my restorer and can't seem to find the list anymore, anyone know where I might find it??
-
Is it phsycally gone as in you do not have it, or is it worn out?? I'm sure that if you have it that it CAN be rebuilt.

OK, ceramic coating! Is there more than one "color" that I should look for to be used on them?
-
Is there someone I can send my original water pump to to have it rebuilt/restored?
-
I have 2 round tab alternators to pick from to have rebuilt/restored, I have not checked date codes on either yet, is it SUPER important to have a proper date code here or will just any round tab unit be ok?? and I believe I saw on here where someone has sent their alternator to someone who rebuilds/restores them to show quality???
Also: What should the brackets be finished with/color?? (July, 1965 KAR)

I think I am going to give the folks at Inline Tube a call and probably get their OEM ones that are pictured here.
They have a 2 piece hose design like my originals have, I am also going to inquire at Trophy Mustang about their SCOTT DRAKE repro. front cable.

I think I just might have a nice set of used ones in the garage, what could I clean them up with to make them look fresh?
