I have a 0-1719 Carter fuel pump that we thought was THE original from my July 1965 Dearborn "K" Convertible.
The car has been in storage from sometime in 1974 until I started to dis-assemble the engine recently.
The pump still has the cut off piece of fuel hose with the factory crimped on clamp on it.
I can see inside of it and see a second spring in addition to the one that rides in the groove of the arm.
It IS a button-top and the "carBUREtor" on the side that faces the firewall.
Do I have the correct pump??? (It IS the crimp together style)Thanks!

I am going to send my originals to Arizona brake and clutch for rebuilding, and put them back in when we finish up the car.

For those of you who have had experiance with the original stock setup verses the Centerforce dual friction verses the Centerforce 1 which one has the lease ammount of pedal effort?
-
Thanks Guys!! I'm going to soak it with PB Blaster today and start working on it!

Would anyone know a way to remove the spacer from the HYPO fan?? mine has not been taken apart for almost 30 years, & I need to get the fan powder coated. Thanks!
-
Thats just it: I'm really not dead bent on using the original clutch setup, no one can see it once installed, and I've heard from more than one person that the centerforce 1 setup is much better.
Is the actual pedal pressure less on the centerforce unit??-reason I ask is I have a partially worn out left knee and won't get it replaced for about anouther 12 years so I need something as easy as I can get by with.

This is great!!!! Thanks!!

I just got the transmission and engine separated and found THE original clutch disc, and pressure plate.
Should I have these rebuilt for use, or should I look at the recomended Centerforce 1 setup?? if its best to rebuild my original stuff who can I enlist to do this? Thanks!

There is a very hot and interesting thread going on right now right under this one on fuel pumps!

Murf, Hey, Thanks for the great info!!! I have almost gotten the engine apart now, BTW where can I get a factory assembly manual??
-
Certainly I haven't got the experts run up a stump?? my darn block has no VIN either?!?!
BTW check out my post # (LOL)

I have an HEH-T toploader that I strongly believe IS THE original from my July 1965 "K" Convertible.
I am looking at page 64 of Tony's book and I sure hope this is a typo: it says that the HEH-T was used from 8/20/64 to 10/1/64 I am hoping that the 10/1 IS 65 not 64, I sure wouldn't think Ford would use a particular transmission for just a month and a half???
Also, I have heard and seen VINs on the bottom of trans cases and can't seem to find mine....is it under the mount?? I haven't removed the mount yet. Thanks!

Great!! Thanks!! I'll give them a call!!

I have an original balancer on/from my "K" engine (July, 1965) and was wondering if I should have it rebuilt while I am rebuilding the engine-it looks real solid, but I am no expert on balancers.
Any suggestions of who can do this for me??

I need advise on the proper seat belts to use in the restoration of my July 1965 "K" Convertible with Pony Interior:
The folks at Snake Oyl say to use the 1965 DELUXE belts, I don't think I've seen but a small handfull of the 1965 DELUXE belts at shows-even with the pony interior, is there some code that dictates the use of the DELUXE belts??

Do you use 2 pertronix units in place of the dual points??

I Emailed qccoatings listed here and have not gotten a response yet.
I spoke personally to a very reputable powder coater here in town yesterday and he told me that there was NO powder coating that could withstand exhaust manifold temps.
He said he did all the powdercoating for Harbor Auto Restoration http://www.harborautorestoration.com as well as ceramic coating on exhaust manifolds-he said they use a color called Titanium (sp) and that it is VERY CLOSE to what a just cleaned/blasted/new exhaust manifold looks like and will last for many years.
