Anyone seen the "EXACT" duplicate that Laurel Mountain Mustang has on Ebay made by Daniel Carpenter?? pic is small but looks to have foam on it, and according to "Jason" @ LM it IS exact.$23.95 buy it now.

Fred, Are the pumps ready to be shipped back now?
-
So, Is the valve itself natural metal color, blue plastic, or what? I'm talking about a LATE (July) 1965 "K" engine.
From what I have seen there is not really alot of the valve itself that shows once you put it into the grommet in the valve cover, and then slip the moulded hose on it.
-
Is the PCV system on a late '65 (July) any different from an "A" code or "C" code engine, does the "K" use a different valve or hose or anything? I can't seem to find any reference to it in Tony's book.
If so, does anyone have a picture?
-
I sent Mac's an Email inquireing about this foam, I will advise when they answer.I am inclined to order a couple just to see what they look like, I can't say that I've ever paid much attention to the originals on cars at shows, I'd sure like to see a picture of it!
-
I would like to buy a GOOD copy of the 2nd edition of Tony's book.
I don't want one that is all torn up and greasy, I'll pay a fair price. Thanks!
-
Do you or your shipper have any sort of paperwork on them? tracking number? was the shipment insured? have you paid for them? if not I certainly wouldn't if so I would do whatever you can to "stop payment"

I did a Google search for "Ford speedometer cable foam" and came up with Mac's Antique Auto Parts has a "Speedometer to firewall seal-'66-'77 Bronco-Dense foam rubber" listed as pn C6TZ-17261-A for $4.95, does anyone know of this? tried it? is it the same as the foam used on '65 Mustangs? there is a picture of it on their website, but its not real clear.
-
I saw that episode as well.
I wonder if the owner is a member on here?
I wish they had interviewed him.
Did you all catch the one error when the narrator was telling about the other engine codes on Mustangs when he said "G" code? instead of "C" code?
-
Is the late '65 exhaust that NPD sells any where near a correct reproduction? and does it come with all the correct hangers and clamps? does anyone else carry anything that is better quality or more correct?
-
What is so darn special about this foam?? does anyone have a picture of the original?? I'll bet something can be had in a plumbing or refridgeration supply house that would be real close???
-
I Absolutely second Buckeye Auto Restoration, in Youngstown/Boardman Ohio!!! Nate, his Dad John, and Brian Cirillo are absolutely top notch!!! They are doing my '65 K Convertible right now, so you can see what they can do there!!! You will be glad you checked them out!!!
-
This is a great idea!! I only hope that my old piece has survived and can be transfered to the new cable.
Thanks for the suggestion!!
But there has got to be something on this great earth that is new and will fit the bill and be correct looking, I wonder just why this simple foam isn't reproduced??
-
I recently bought from a seller on Ebay an NOS Ford 4 speed speedometer cable for my '65 Convertible.
It did not come with the foam insulation stuff on it in the area where it passes through the firewall.
What can be used for/in place of the foam that would look right?
-
You might want to check with the Damper Doctor, they rebuilt mine, and spoke of just about having a great repro ready.
-
You might want to watch Ebay, I got one from a seller on there a while back, they pop up from time to time, only problem is they DO NOT come with the foam type insulation on the area that goes through the firewall, and my understanding is that the correct foam part IS NOT reproduced yet.
-
OK, Good!!!! Now, do yourself a favor and call Jon @ Pony and have him build you a carb!
-
Who/where has the best(most correct looking) upper and lower control arms and the drag link for a '65?? I understand that some of the repros are better than others, I am trying to find some w/o zerk fittings, but will buy ones with them if the are otherwise correct.
-
I never spoke with Kurt but did exchange several Emails with him about a year ago, I was ok with him until I heard some of the bad stuff that I did.
Jon, at Pony has done 3 carbs for me now, all flawless, and I find him to be very personable, and communicated with me very well on all 3!
