Digging up this somewhat old thread:Does Marti or anyone else have the BLACK data plates available??--I have had mine done and its GRAY and being a DEARBORN car my thinking is that it should be BLACK, my original was painted over and its really hard to tell but evedence of cars a few behind mine and a few in front seem to indicate BLACK--I just read the posting about the difference in the tags being what type of paint was used....??....I remember back in 1966 my Dad bought a Country Sedan brand new in Maryland-(did Metuchen build Full size cars?)and he had an accident that required replacement of the fenders and hood within the first 3 months and it was done at a Ford dealer and when he got it back the Vintage Burgandy paint on the new parts didn't match the rest of the car.....is this possibly the difference in type of paint we're talking about??

On Saturday I'm off to the annual Daytona Turkey Run show and will be looking for a "correct" radiator for my JULY 1965 DEARBORN built K (manual trans) my question is can someone please tell me where the part number/date code is located on these radiators? anyone have a picture of this? ANYONE HAVE A RADIATOR THAT WILL WORK FOR MY KAR???
THANKS!!!!

-
David, Email sent for your 5F7 intake.
-
Thanks!! I'm looking at both of those.....IS MY 5F14 INDEED MAY 14, 1965 date?? am I reading the date code right??
-
I may need a new intake manifold for my Kar, it turns out that my machine shop really screwed up mine by somehow cutting it on an angle around the t-stat opening to try & true it up.
MINE is a C60E-9425-B with the date of 5F14 which I take as MAY 14, 1965--is this right??-its the EARLY '66 manifold that, acording to Bob's book was introduced onto engines sometime in LATE 1965-I know this particular manifold IS the ORIGINAL from my engine as it still had the CORRECT engine tag on it...
Anyway...how much leeway do I have in the date code in finding a replacement manifold?? definatly can't be AFTER my July 27th 1965 build date I know, but how much earlier or later can I go to get a correct replacement unit?? Thanks! (anyone got one I can use that IS GOOD???
-
I don't really know how early the radiator is...I will find out from my restorer.....I am think that rather than spend the $$ on a rad that is clearly way too early for my JULY 1965 Kar that I would seek out one that is correctly date coded or like I said just buy a replacement quality unit and have the trans line fittings bluffed.
Would anyone know where I could find even a good core to rework??

Just saw a good shot of the 2010 on cnn news at the LA Autoshow: Why, Why, Why can't they do better than those butt ugly TRUCK/SUV mirrors?? I think that car would look great with a set of '69-'70 racing mirrors!!!! don't get me wrong I love my nice big mirrors on my '99 F350 Dually, but they belong there!!!! not on a MUSTANG!!!!

I would like to buy a DEARBORN radiator for my July 1965 Kar.
I have one available but its way too early for my Kar, so I figured that I'd put some feelers out, I don't want or need to get crazy with this, I will look at recored units as well as ones needing to be done, otherwise I'm going to buy a replacement unit and have the cooler line fittings "bluffed" as my radiator guy calls it. Thanks!

Guys, the reproduction unit that is being sold by Laurel Mountain Mustang is great!!!! I am using IT in my car instead of the NOS FORD one!!! the only difference I can redily see is that there is no part number stamped on it, it has the dense foam rubber gromet piece already installed, so I elected to re-sell the NOS one I had bought a while back the repro is THAT NICE!!!
-
Sorry Guys!!!!! I should have made it known that Fred had bought the cable when he did, anyway...I have asked him if we could work a trade towards my fuel pump rebuild....Thanks, RICK
-
Price is $100.00 shipped to the lower 48 WITH the extra dense foam rubber gromet that I got from Mac's for the early Bronco application.

I think Ford and GM have already had their ass kicked by Chrysler with the NEW Challenger!!! anyone seen 1 in person yet??
I also think that now is the time for the american public to "help" the big 3 get with the same program that Toyota and Nissan and others go by, we cannot continue to pay people $50.00 or more per hour to bolt doors onto cars in Detroit, the auto unions have to be done away with.....sorry, but thats how I feel!!!!
