Thanks! We have the layout of the correct stamp for the early Mustang Convertible window but just need to find someone to make the actual stamp which in this case is more of a brand than a stamp.
-
OK, it would seem to me that these corvex ones would be of better quality than the KSR ones then?? anyone compaire??
Anyone heard of a company called Motowell company?? they make these mouldings as well???
-
So far 1 to 1.....anyone know if these mouldings are made in "original Ford Tooling"?? or possible by Dynacorn?? I've heard some good things about Dynacorn mouldings...
-
the general consenses is that the cheap ksr repros are no good at all, nos ones are very expensive and a little hard to find, are these made in original FORD TOOLING?? any one seen anything good out there?
-
Would anyone have any idea as to where a stamp can be made for the original stamped -in lettering on the vinyl rear window, we have the correct lettering layout and just need the stamp made??
-
I am not giving up, just weighing my options, obviously no one here has one that they want to sell, and I have no idea at this point what used Mustang parts dealers to call & ask...
-
I am under the same impression about the cooling lines.
Other than that and the fact that the aftermarket units obviously have no date codes or part numbers on them will one of these pass for concours judging?
-
I have a set of 3.50.1 ring and pinion gears that I believe are from an 8" rear but don't have a 9" set here to compair....question is what should the ring gear measure and is it inside or outside measurement?? Thanks!!
-
OK, What about the ones the Mustang parts vendors carry?? what I'm seeing in pictures sure look close to the Dearborn units, with of course the provisions for the auto trans cooling lines.
Do these vary from vendor to vendor? any of them carry anything better than I'm seeing??

I have found a radiator with the C4ZE-8005 (so far) and its a manual trans radiator.....I believe it is an original FOMOCO unit from either Dearborn or Metuchen plant....I also believe its from a 6 cylinder application 1964-1965.....I know the lower hose outlet is on the wrong side-(this can be changed) and 1 or both outlets are smaller than the V8 are.....I believe these can be changed as well...I can get this radiator very reasonably so I'll have some room to work with a nearly correct radiator to start with....
Is there something I am missing as to how a laymen (not me) could distinguish between a V8 & 6cyl. application with this C4ZE-8005 number on it?

Something tells me that there might have been a hang tag for the knob on the choke on all manual choke equipped cars back in the day when they were being sold on the lots new....
-
-Makes me glad I had my ORIGINAL pressure plate & disc to send as recomended to Arizone brake & clutch for rebuilding.....both came back better than brand new!!
-
YEP, FRED.....DITTO HERE, BIG TIME!!!!!

I'm now getting conflicting reports on the DEARBORN radiators: In this months Mustang Monthly there is a restorer guy whos name escapes me right now but he states that the DEARBORN radiators have the ROUNDED TABS on the top, and I'm hearing that this info is wrong....is there a repro/aftermarket/replacement unit that is close avalable? I didn't find anything at Daytona BTW execpt well over 1,000 vehicles for sale in this bad economy.
-
Isn't the one at the motorbooks place a '65 manual?? is it a used original or a reprint??
-
I think it just is the difference between manufacturers on these gaskets, I have seen some that fit poorly like you describe and some that fit great and require no trimming to work/fit correctly.
-
Thanks again Charles!!! I kind of thought there was a reason that they made my repro data plate with the gray background paint, I'm going to call Marti & confirm.
-
Just curious about the prices shown on the window sticker...I've had a reproduction sticker made by Tony Garcia, and while the prices he put on it are close to what is shown on this car's original, they are not exact....certainly Tony has done a lot of research before undertaking making these reproduction stickers...

I firmly believe that Chuck at Distributor Dynamics has the proper maching to set up these distributors correctly, he provides a sheet with each distributor he does showing the curves-I think what ever he does makes the HIPO distributor work just a little better than it did originally much like Pony Carbs does with the 4100 carbs.
My vote is still with/for Chuck!!!
