Thanks guys!! I didn't realize that there were TSBs listed in the book, this is very valuable info!!

It goes on to say:(in part) Vehicles built after July 9th, 1965 a new rear housing was made to acomodate the internal capacitor, and that the connector on the wireing will not be used when the internal capacitor is used.

This all said I feel that with this TSB info and the fact that my Kar has a scheduled build date of July 27 1965 that I will not install the condensor/capacitor.

Do we by chance know anything about the condensor/capacitor that is used on the voltage regulator??

I have tried Emailing the address shown in your book, and it comes back undeliverable.

Anyway: On section 5 page 42 it is stated that on Aprox.7/09/1965 that Ford switched to an internal condensor for the alternator.

It also states that an external condensor could be used in conjunction with the internal one.

It looks to me that my car with a scheduled build date of July 27, 1965 technicly does not need to have an external condensor to be correct.

    Could you please elaborate?? Thanks!

Someone will correct me if I am wwrong but I believe these mouldings are stainless and can be polished like many other stainless trim pieces on older cars, depending on what level of finish you are looking for you may be able to do these yourself by hand with the proper compounds.....

Guys, Hey THANKS for all the help!!!! I was going to have a trailer built for me, but then I found an absolutely beutiful 2008 8.5 X 24 Pace Rallye LIMITED with a 10,400gvw loaded with options in perfect as new condition with under 6k miles towed and bought for just over half or the original selling price that was paid less that a year ago. Really nice trailer!!! fenders are only 10.5" tall, so I'm ready to go!!!!

I am ready to have an enclosed trailer built to haul my '65 Convertible.

I do not have my car here to measure the clearance needed for the door to clear the fender of the trailer inside the trailer, anyone know how much clearance is needed??

And it has been highly recomended that I get the "side escape door" on the left side of the trailer, and I am inclined to agree with this, or else I won't be able to get out of the car once its inside the trailer, the only thing again is measurement.....most of these side escape doors on trailers I've seen are positioned over the fender.......is this about where it should go?? considering its a 24' trailer?? do I still need the "man door" on the right side?

    Thanks for any imput!!

Kevin tells me that HE HAS the ORIGINAL FORD blueprints/drawings/measurements for these wires and unless something catastrophic (sp) happened during the manufacturing of the set I bought that they should be spot on.

Has anyone purchased repro wires for the 289 HIPO that were NOT manufactured by Marti Auto Works??

UPDATE: 3/9/2009: My restorer Nate Miller of Buckeye Auto Restoration has tried to make the absolute CRAP ACC carpet fit my '65 Convertible, heat guns, irons, everything....he finally jerked it out and ordered a new set from TRIM PARTS which he had delt with many years ago but didn't think they were still in business, TRIM PARTS GUARANTEED him that their carpet would fit right, so we'll have to see what happens from here, he is going to take ACC their CRAP carpet to their booth in Charlotte and demand a refund! I get the feeling that ACC believes that they have the only game going, may be thats about to change....stay tuned.....

66gtk: I don't think its too late to ask Kevin to provide this information, I, at this point don't think its nessessary though.

As everyone knows, and have seen and most likely even delt with themselves Kevin has a reputation of upstanding quality in the Ford/Mustang community, and like I say thats good enough for me.

Charles will find the GRAY plate on my Kar when he does the courtesy MCA concours judging for me at the upcoming Charlotte Spring Auto Fair.
