I got a real nice replacement set from Marv a while back, might want to check with him.......he also has the lifters and cams too!
-
I believe that the console in my '65 Convertible was installed off-center.
It is very close to the passenger seat, and I can get my hand easily between thr drivers seat and the console-some say that Ford was notorious for this from the factory-I don't choose to believe this.
Please tell me how YOUR console fits! Thanks!

I would think a real cam thrust plate for a HIPO would be quite valuable.....I don't know for sure if they have a Ford part number on them or not, I think I've heard that they are being reproduced now as well.
-
I wonder if the folks at Classic Consoles would be interested in your material??
-
Just out of curiosity where did you get your carpet? it looks to fit pretty well....was there much fitting and/or trimming needed?
-
Guys, (Charlees & Wally) The 1 1/2" spacer that I have acording to anouther post looking for 1 and a very rough (installed) measurement from the one on my engine is NOT correct for a HIPO, the correct one is something like 2.3 or 2.4" (look up the other post-there is no mention of the spacer in Tony'd book-just the fan itself)I just sold a lot of 5 spacers on ebay that some were LONGER than that and 1 was SHORTER, I wonder if the "HIPO" spacer is used on any other Ford application so we can check other resources?

Charles, I bought my replacement timing set from Marv if that would help you...
-
PM sent-I've got one sitting right here on my desk for you!
-
Mine was purchased in 2008 and installed in 2009 what could be different from then to now execpt a change in manufacturer or a qc issue?
-
For those of you that have purchased and installed this system:How is the fit? does any part of it have to be re-worked at a local muffler shop?
-
The '63-'64.5 pumps are screw together and the later '65s are crimp together-the crimp together is 3939S if this helps
-
OK, So some have had good luck with the Motive system and some (like mine) had fit issues, this tells me at the very least that Motive's quality control is lacking, or like I asked before may be their stuff has been sent overseas for production to try & save money.
-
I think I'll grab them and then call Jay Leno & see if I can use his machine to make about 100 sets up.
-
66GTK: How long ago did you buy and install your system? mine was bought and installed about 9 months ago.
If Motive was making a system that they were having no complaints about why would they switch to something else? are they being forced to have their systems made overseas now??
-
Again: I wonder if the incredible machine that Jay leno is repping could be used to make new K correct fuel pumps-got to be a way around having to spend over $1500. for an original!
-
I purchased the concours exhaust system from Motive Industries at the suggestion of several members here for my LATE JULY 1965 Dearborn K and was told by my restorer that it wasn't all that great fitting of a system based on all the hype I'd heard and that they had to take some of it to a local muffler shop and have it tweeked differently so it would fit right-I have no way of knowing just how bad the system was or if this was a hoax-the system is installed on my car looks nice and sounds great-(just as good as the earlier Arvinode system being talked about on here) anyone else have to resort to taking the MOTIVE system to a muffler shop for alterations? I really expected it to fit well right out of the box!
-
I wasn't aware that the seals themselves were any different from a standard 289 to a HIPO 289, I know when my heads were rebuilt that the shop used the seals that were in the major engine overhaul gasket set....
-
Has anyone considered trying to seek out who ever has the machine that jay Leno has shown that can make any part of any car????
