Charles: There was a guy over on the VMF who said HE would deduct for an incorrect overflow hose if he were to judge a car-I think he IS a judge, he didn't say if it was in Concours trailered or Thorobred though....

BOs: Are BOTH your hoses ribbed (the washer hoses)? the shory one from the pump to the bag and the smaller diameter one from the bag to the nozzles??
-
You are welcome! It is all in the small details......I think from what I know about Jack's outfit it appears he is very much on the up and up-he mostly caters to the '69s & '70s but little stuff like this hose are used in our earlier cars too.
If you were to read my post on the windsheild washer hose Jack also has a ribbed hose for that as well that I'm going to order too.
-
Curious as to IF '65s used a smooth OR ribbed hose for the windsheold washer hose? I recently purchased a ribbed radiator overflow hose from Dead Nuts On and have also seen that they carry a ribbed hose for the windsheild washer as well....
Also curious as to why no one has reproduced something so simple as the CLEAR "T" for the washer hose?? (Charles was kind enough to sell me a good original "T" recently)

I recently purchased a very correct looking reproduction RIBBED radiator overflow hose from Jack at Dead Nuts On and what a difference this quality piece makes! Very well done repro I might say! alot better than the dime-store vacuum hose I had previously.
the 36" length of the RIBBED hose from Jack was $11.10 shipped.

I am trying to sell a completely restored/rebuilt unit for $2k and no takers, I think we should just put these rears in moth balls for about 10 years......

Bill, Hey, Thanks for all this information, but I have seen all this before.....I guess we will all have to wait and see if the much talked about documentary ever materializes.
-
Yes, This is the documentary I was asking about.......I had read that info once before and it seems to indicate that the documentary would be released in early summer of this year and I am just curious as to if it has been released and when it can be viewed by the public.

I think I would gap them at .030 then which is right in the middle between .028 and .032 (same gap as what the spec says for the BF32s)

Yes sir, Please thank your Son for all of his service to his country!! then take him out for a NICE dinner and let him drive your Kar!!

I have a set of "Motofeet" engine stand that sets the engine (small block Ford) very close to the ground and you can bolt the transmission to the engine as well as the motofeet bolt to the motor mount holes, I used this setup to transport my engine in the back of my truck over 1k miles and it never moved.(I have 3 of 4 of the casters as 1 was lost but a replacement should be able to be found easily-I never installed the casters.....this is a quality built piece made in the USA! $45.00plus shipping.

The modern plug that alot of folks use in the K engines is a Autolite number 45, it is the same plug that folks use in the A and C code 289s as well. There IS NO modern AUTOLITE plug that is the correct heat range, the 45 is just 1 step hotter for the HIPO.
Also alot of folks have sought out and use NOS Autolite BF32s, the ones WITHOUT the stars on them can be bought actually quite reasonably.

I've seen the White in a few cars at the shows, and rather they are originals or repros I'm looking at they seem to get dirty and yellow pretty quick.....I would recomend going with whatever color your carpet is on these.

I've got the running horses ones in my '65 Convertible, they are a licensed FORD product, I believe that these are a duplicate of the originals that were a dealer option in 1965.
-
Any known specifics on this? the picture I have with a pull is on an NOS TRI-LITE window......do the Vinylite and Boltaflex windows commonly have pulls?
-
Do any of you have a rawhide pull on the zipper fly for your rear window?
Reason I ask is I have been shown a picture of an NOS rear window with the pull on it.
I have found by the pictures that the correct color for this pull in Black Oil-Rubbed available from a leather supplier on-line and that about 8" will do the job-installing it the way the picture suggests.
I have racked what little brain I have left and I DO remember my Mom's 1965 Convertible that she bought in 1967 having this pull.

I have posted this question on the VMF, and the new Concours Mustang website and am going to try here:
Does anyone know what has become of the Mustang Documentary that was being done by Tony Bagley & the Speed Channel??
I also understand that "Randy" of http://www.classicmusclecars.com was involved in the doc......
-
Thanks Jim!!!! I guess this "HIPO" part is one that is reasonably priced due to it being used in many other Mustang applications....
