I can't find my hi po book but I need to know what size bolts are used on the hi po main caps?
-
I am in the process of installing my first engine, the car is not a hipo car but I noticed that the holes in the motor mount don't line up, is that correct? Also I was wondering if I should put the engine and tranny in first before I put the carpet and interior back in.I took the engine out myself so I assumed it would be easy to put back in. The machine shop only put the main components together but I have to put the oil pump on, the water pump etc, is there a book that gives you the torque for the bolts? As always any help I can get is appreciated.

Where can I get a clutch kit for a 65 3 speed car?

Thank you Jeff.

I've heard that a lot of the stuff that shelby did was because he saw it being done at the ford factory to the mustangs that were destined for Europe. Does anybody on this forum own a T5 that the can send pictures of? I would like to see the engine compartement.
-
Did the T5 Mustangs have the front lowered like the shelbys? I have a factory 65 GT convertible T5 that I just got back from the shop, based on my previous post on t5, the extra washer is present welded to the shock towers, the export brace is like the shelby with the plate on the fire wall for extra strength and even spaced holes. I also have all the original papers for the car so the questions is not wether the car is a T5 or not but what are the special characteristics of a T5. I noticed the front was lowered and was wondering if the previous owner did it of if T5 had that done at the factory?

I am in the process of buying a 67 GT350 and want to make sure what to look for.

Do 67 k code cars have the same 3 vin numbers on the inner fender aprons like the 65 and 66?
-
I have an idea Brett, just post the k vin number so we are all aware of which car it is and a record can be made in the next registry. I am sure you may have no bad intentions but the next owner might try to pass it as an original body car. Just a thought.

On the body.

Where the vin numbers located on a 67 k code? Are they in the same place as a 65 or 66 k code?

The car is very clean and still has its original black california plates. It never left California. It has had one repaint from what I was told but the under carriage has never been detailed. It is a late 65. Just like Mike, I have a wish list;
1. March or April Carburator.
2. Gas Cap (nos if possible)
3. Steering wheel(I do have a couple of GT500 steering whell in case somebody wants a trade, one is restored to concourse and the other is unrestored original in excellent condition.
4. Mirror (inside and outside)

Thank you for all the info. I did buy the car and everything you guys mentioned is correct. I also noticed that the spot for the trap door hinged is not drilled but also has a couple of bumps on the under side.

Does anybody know the difference between a 65 sheby body and a standard k code body? I was told there are some differences one being holes drilled for the back seat. I am in the process of buying one and want to make sure it is correct. As always your help is appreciated.

Does anybody have the door tag info for car #6R09K152865?

Is there a book out there that tells you how to decode the panels on a car? Is the same as decoding the engine date A= January etc.
-
So if I understand correctly, a 65 factory gt would have the 66 style rally pack? My car has standard interior and the rally pack matches the interio(polimino), I will check to see if thre is black under that paint.
-
Since a 65 GT has the same instrument panel as a standard 66, which type of rally pack was used on a 65 GT?
