Go to holleys web site they have a kit that will work . The washer type seal for the 2 threaded plugs for needle and seat are not in the kit and Holley does not make them any more. I also think that Pony carb has a kit you can use.

I used rubbing compound and #000 steal wool. You can use tooth paste
mixed with a little water.

I got the maintenance free battery. It was $260 with shipping.
I have a battery tender and have used it for years now. I found a lot of vendors do not stock the battery. When you order one, they have it drop shipped to you. I bought mine from Shelby Parts and Restorations.
Thank You For the all the feedback.

When i owned my 64 Mercury Comet Cyclone people would ask me what happen to the Hipo 289 engine. Then i would tell them that for 64 Comets K is for 289 4v carb 210HP.

Hi 66GTK
The 289 Cobras and early 65 Shelbys did not have the SiMS part number on them. Then like Bo said then they used the part number on them. The 65 Shelby 715 cfm carb just had the list number and date code on the air horn on the front of the carb.On the 66 Shelbys they put S2Ms on the air horns of the carbs.

Hi 66GT
Bo is right , they used that intake on 289 Cobras and early 65 Shelbys.

On my 65 350 it was on the coil bracket.

If the car does not have bolt on braces from fire wall to shock towers it is not a Hipo Comet.

Did you check your bulbs? The ground is in the trunk by the filler neck. Unplug connector at your brake light switch and take a wire and jumper it if your lights work the switch is bad. Check your ground it could be the turn signal switch also.

I thought that the 289 used in GT40 had O'rings instead of head gaskets.

The am/fm that came in my 641/2 comet cyclone must be worth a lot more money then the mustang one. They had a special dash bezzel.
