What do you guys estimate this car is worth ? i've been told the floor has been replaced as well as the lower quarters. seller tells me it has surface rust at the rear wheel wells. trans & rear end are correct but not many other K parts except exhaust manifolds & maybe the balancer.

please offer your opinion of its value as i'm planning to make the seller an offer.

    thanks-

spoke with the seller, he's a chevy guy who doesn't know or care to know much about mustangs. he does know K codes are rare and told me he has the car for sale locally for 20k. he's not willing to end the auction as he already has 50+ ebayers watching the auction (all hoping to steal the car since it has no reserve). i'm told the car does not need any rust repair. he does not know if the engine has any correct K code parts. he was told the original motor was replaced with a 302.

is anyone local to this car in Arkansas that they could check it out for me ? i would like to know what if any correct K parts are under the hood. his number is 479-806-2105, name is James.

    thanks guys-

someone stole a 64 1/2 K convert this past weekend in AZ, bought it for about 16k, rust free AZ car. seller told me he didnt think it was worth more than 15k because it didnt have the matching number original hipo motor...but it did have a correct generator powered k code motor. went to someone in Chicago i was told. it was listed friday, sold the same day and picked up saturday...the buyer wasted no time since he knew he was stealing it, legally.

everyday, if ya wanna find deals like that you gotta look every #@%&*@% day, swearing at myself...the search continues.

i like the suggestion made by 41gpaws to Brett1970 "post the k vin number so we are all aware of which car it is and a record can be made in the next registry." Brett1970 wrote "If i used the K title on this car and i DID sell it, i would not hesitate to tell the prospective buyer EXACTLY what the car was"

good intention stated but i notice he chose not to post the cars VIN. the increased value of a car said to be a K code is too tempting for many. i fully agree that a rebodied car will be misrepresented by a seller somewhere down the line, for that reason i'm against it being done.

i've come to the conclusion that if i want a k fastback or convert i'm going to have to post a wanted ad in hemmings with a finders fee. this is the 2nd time i've been promised first right of refusal by a forum member and the 2nd time that a promise has not been honored. while in contact with this recent seller i stopped searching the websites assuming i had finally found a k code, how naive & foolish of me. fact is, after 2+ years of constant looking i'm tired of the search and when people don't honor their word it makes the k code hunt very unenjoyable to put it mildly.

whatever happened to people honoring their word ? long story i've debated writing about in this forum but maybe someone will learn something from it as i have. a forum member promised me 1st chance to buy a k fastback from him then when i called to finalize plans to come buy the car i'm told "sorry i let it go to someone else who was pushing me hard to sell it to him". i had talked to this guy about a dozen times, more than once he assured me it was mine if i wanted it. he was 12 hours away from me and it was very difficult to get a date agreed on when we could get together. in the end this has been a giant waste of my time, talking with this person, trusting what he told me...very disheartening, i guess some peoples word just isnt worth $#i+!. i only hope what goes around comes around.

just keeping this post alive wondering if anyone knows anything about this convert ? if a forum member bought it ?

also a request for forum members to keep their eyes open for Kars for sale and to post them in the forum for those of us who are STILL hoping to join the k code ownership.

    thanks guys-
