The heater hose straps and fasteners being regularly sold on ebay seem to lack any form of part number identification. Having that many "new" parts that lack NOS part number decals, tags, or other genuine Ford identification warrants caution and closer scrutiny; caveat emptor.

Send it to Chuck at Distributor Dynamics and he will rebuild it and set the curve to the proper factory settings.

It might be easier to respond if you could post a picture.

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>Is there some way "WE" can post this bogus VIN so we can keep track of it in the future? <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>
The discussion of this car is linked to the VIN in the title of the topic. Anyone doing research on this car in the future will find info by searching the archive with the VIN.

Message to 66Tiger - please shoot me an e-mail @ run1ski2@aol.com.
I have a possible shot at a "barn find" Sunbeam Tiger in my area. The owner has passed away and his family, supposedly, wants to "unload" the car. Don't know what year yet. I would like to set up a communication with someone who is experienced with these cars. Thanks.
Bill G.

Suggest you start a separate thread on the Tiger.

Looks great - do you have a comparison photo against an original you could post?
-
Sound deadener and seam sealers would have been applied first, then painted.
-
Great to see a lot of the original details present.

Exellent news! Hopefully you'll get full participation! Congrats.

I have wrestled with this in recent years and made the decision to hold onto my car. As time goes by it's getting harder to find cars that are in one piece, and the cost of putting one back together continues to climb with the cost of original parts. If you're looking for a driver then let it go. If you're passionate about K codes I would weigh in favor of keeping it.

There have been many coupes for sale on ebay the during the time frame you have mentioned, and a lot of them have been listed here.
-
These won't be paint, they'll be stamped assembly dates.
-
Have you looked the block over for assembly dates on the deck and pan areas?

Those HP gains are believable on larger motors with other goodies on them, but it would be a bit tough to squeeze that kind of horsepower out of a stock 289 HiPo with just an air filter change. Shelby's GT 350 changes have recently been reproduced to show that the advertise gain from 271 HP to 306 HP was legitimate with the addition of the bolt on manifolds, carb, and tuning. If you've made that kind of gain with the air filter that's great news and cheap HP at the end of the day.

Hank, Marv & Gene,
Thank you for all the hard work, time and money that goes into keeping the site up and running. It's a privelege to have access to the forum and be able to meet other enthusiasts from all around the world and exchange information. That wouldn't be possible if you guys hadn't put the site together and kept it running all these years. I just made my annual donation and I hope others will do the same!
Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Thank you for putting effort into solving these details.

The new hoses are pretty stiff and if you're not a particularly sporty driver or would-be road racer (like some of us wannabes) you should be fine without the spring.

I use 0000 wool saturated with WD40 and a good terry cloth towel and find it works well to clean up the metal without overworking the surface. Little to no pressure with the wool.
