Dust - don't laugh now -- you go down to the grocery store and buy the Swiffer duster with the extension handle. Charles Turner told me about this for dusting off motors and chassis on the show field and it works.

Quote from b9folkWas there any special thing which pointed out the manual choke or special starting instructions for 1965 K-codes?
This actually a very good question. Haven't ever seen a tag of any kind, but it would make sense.
Gary,
That's the original shaft and I have a driveshaft shop in town that has a steel shot cabinet they use. It has a rotating cabinet that's kind of like a giant rotisserie inside. It's not quite as perfect as using a new tube, but it works well.
There is evidence of the original striping on the shaft, but I have yet to find anyone with original striping on a HiPo shaft to confirm the colors. I know there are some references in Tony's book, but it would be nice to actually see some images of an unrestored car with the original driveshaft.

Differential housing is semi-gloss black. The third member was painted red oxide by the manufacturer prior to machining the pinion bearing retainer. The grade 8 bolts that hold the pinion retainer in place are zinc phosphate S8 finish, the nuts holding the third member in place are S7 and the washers are copper sealing washers. Gasket surface on the face of the differential housing should be as if machined. Snubber plate is natural and snubber is rubber:)

An early car that still has all three of the pedal pads in place. Probably a ton of fun with the blower on it.
I think the photography might be influencing your opinion. It would have been better if the documentation had been scanned, but it seems like a lot of effort to duplicate things like finance agreements to help authenticate the car. The photocopy of the owner's manual is odd, but the invoice is suitably yellowed, it just looks like there is another piece of paper for a backing sheet.
Ditto Chuck. Very nice guy.
Probably more misinformed than misrepresented. I like all of the documentation. It's refreshing to see one for sale with all of the early history intact. Hope they did a nice job of taking photos during the resotration.
No mention of an engine change in this listing......
Does this damper have any other markings at 90 degree intervals? I saw one that was similar to this in the Damper Doctor's shop a few years ago and he mentioned that it was a Shelby part. I think it may have just been a C8 damper akin to what Bob has mentioned.
I agree with Fred, we need to see some photos. How about some period stuff too!
It's a genuine Bob Perkins part!![]()
Quote from garymcgowanThis indicates to me it was put in not too long ago or this engine has set for years without being run. I guess we will never really know.
Gary,
A rare chain indeed!
I wonder if we could get Cloyes to make up a batch for us? ![]()
I use Image Shack for posting my pictures; free, easy, and simple to use. If you post your pictures to the Skrapbook they'll be easy to find.
It's interesting your car has those options, yet no heater. Do you have a build sheet or invoice?
This is a very sharp looking coupe; if I had the dough right now I'd buy it.
They look fantastic Fred; great job. THAT is restoration!
Fred,
Agreed; see my 11/21 post. Question is, are there any of these sitting around in a warehouse collecting dust?? Probably wasn't a fast moving part back then and there may be some leftovers.![]()
