Jan,
Still own it and it's in Sweden. Drove it in June when my wife and
I visited Sweden and she also went to Finland to see family.
Can't believe I owned that car for more than 32 years now.

Jan,
Nice car. Do you have any plans to change it back to it's original
Silver Frost color? Also, are you a member of the Mustang Club in Finland? I used to be a member in that club in the mid 80's.
Participated in a club meeting at Koskenpää with my 67 Shelby.
Meeting and my car was documented in a magazine, if I recall correctly V8-Magasini. My wife is from Finland.

Hi Joe,
I have those with the offset red, white and blue stripes
with a horse in the middle in my 67 Shelby. Have had them for at least 30 years.

I'll be there with some friends on Saturday afternoon sometime.
Maybe we see each other there.

Hi,
I posted a picture on the SAAC Forum. Can't seem to get
it done here. It's to the left close to the kick panel and has
no C on the knob. The picture I posted was from an original car
just below serial number #1200.
If you send me your email address I can send you the picture.
/Bo
Dave,
Your car came with one of each and they were both date
stamped the same date, correct?
/Bo
Thanks, Charles.

Sorry, but I am not convinced about the spray versus brushes.
To me the paint dots looks too thick for being applied with
spray and the edges looks like it's still kind of thick instead of
being thinner. Could be wrong, wouldn't be the first
time. What about other markings like on steering components
etc. Were they applied with spray as well? For example the HiPo
engine insulators are marked with yellow and all 4 NOS I have are as far as I can see marked with a brush.
/Bo
Maybe a strange question, but were these green and yellow dots
originally sprayed or slashed on with brushes? Mine looked like they were slashed on with brushes.
/Bo
Depends on the rest of the car. Are all other stuff correct
including date codes etc. If so I would go for it and sell
the one he has in the car. However, only if the new one has no
serial number stamped into it. If it does it won't make much of
a difference in my book.
/Bo
What's the date code. Can't see it clearly on
the ebay item, B?
Thanks,
/Bo
In the book, "How to rebuild your small block Ford"
there are lists showing the various parts and the
one you list is only shown as a standard 289 block,
not HP.
/Bo
The one you have, is as far as I know, for a K-engine.
It would not fit any standard 289 with standard
exhaust manifolds.

I believe the general feeling is that cars that were standing at LAX
for months got rust on bumpers, faded paint on the fiber glass or other problems and those cars got a Z marked when they had been checked and fixed.
My 67 has a Z and it was standing at LAX from the ready date in May 67 to October 67 when it was sold and delivered to a dealer in L.A.
/Bo
5FB probably means second week of June, 1965.
M1, I don't know but according to Max at AMK
M2 means 260/289 AT with AC.
/Bo
The bands on 6S923 is reversed like one of yours before it was
painted over, i.e. yellow band at the end and green further up.
/Bo
Sorry Dave,
You answered while I was writing my response.
/Bo
Jeff,
Dave's springs are dated (manufactured) in early 66 and have the
green and yellow dots while 6S923 have original springs dated
in Dec of 1965 and have yellow and green bands. 6S923
was produced at San Jose around Jan 12th while engine assembly date
is Jan 6th, 1966. This means that the dot and band thing had no
cut off date at all as regards the dates on the springs.
/Bo
Hi,
Congrats, you most likely have the original springs.
The code S is for a K code fastback and the date code is
85=calendar day 85, 5=1965 and E=probably stands for Eaton
the manufacturer. If my math is correct your spring
is manufactured on March 26, 1965. Have you checked both as
there very often are different dates on a pair for a car.
Seen several 65 Shelbys that have 18 5E on one side and 75 5E.
Also seen 16 5E and 75 5E respectively.
/Bo
My 65 Shelby with stock springs and lowered upper
control arms sits at 26.0" in front and 27" in the
back with 15" wheels and 27.61" diameter tires.
