Nice car but obviously the dealer don't know so much about Mustangs
as it is a close ratio trans but they specify the wide ratio
in the listing.

Great job!!!! Woah, talk about being down to the last nut and bolt.
Are you going to keep this one?
/Bo
Beautiful car. Just read the article today.

GT350 Street cars used the HiPo cam while the Race models
got another cam.

Well, every convertible owner is rushing to their garages
now to see if there are any indents in the convertible top
cover from three nice behinds.
/Bo
Thanks,
Wonder who owns that convertible.
/Bo
Thanks a million, that was great.
/Bo
If I don't recall wrong, the M1 on originals are
pointing forward and backward respectively while the
later versions are pointing up and down. As Z.Ray says,
the bracket with 3 ears are a give away on an original as is the
casting on the brackets, 1068 and 1070. 1070 was listed as used on Falcons but I have seen many 66 Shelbys having them as well.

Great, Jack is a good and honest guy.
/Bo
That's what I do too, left is driver side.
Strange that several Shelby 65's have these
big difference in dates 16 and 18 on drivers side
and 75 on passenger side.
Charles, after you convinced me with your pictures
that te green and yellow dots should be sprayed on
I cleaned mine up and bought spray paint instead.

Jeff,
Probably the reason DeadNutsOn stamp their alternator twice.
Were you their advisor? Just bought an alternator for my 65.
/Bo
Mark,
I have 4 used Konis I bought for my 65 Shelby many years ago.
As you know, I haven't driven the car that much but the
two front upper bracket bushings dried in the Texas heat
and should be replaced. Date codes are: Front 909 and Rear 911.
Removed them when I found 4 65 dated shocks for my car.
Also have 2 fronts dated 4 73 and rear dated 4 70. None of them leak but I have never used them. Both these pairs are 1388 and 1389's.
$100 each shock plus shipping.
/Bo
Mark,
If you need current Konis without date code correctness you must be able to find them in the UK. If not you can buy them from Holland or Sweden and get EU lower taxes on them. The part numbers are 1388 front and 1389 rear. The original 65 Konis in 1965 and used on the 65 Shelby were 1326 front and 1327 rear. Konis are made in Holland as you probably know.

Charles, talk about eagle eye. You made me crawl under my
car in a quite cold garage this morning to verify that it
should be Genuine Parts. My fuel pump with filter bowl
is a NOS bought in the Ford box about 10 years ago.
/Bo
Thanks guys,
I will send the information to my friend and 65 owner in Florida
who, for unknown reasons can't get registered on this site.
He is the one needing the mask.
/Bo
Thanks,
Tom, do you still have the stencils.
/Bo
Some time ago, somebody on this site sold masks (stencils)
for the 65 fuel canisters markings.
Do you still have any for sale?
Thanks,
/Bo
I have one without any cut wires. It's been in my closet for
twenty years. Tested it when I bought it and it worked fine.
Probably needs to be tested again.
$500 takes it.

Ray,
When I saw the ad on another forum I wrote him a message immediately.
He later told me that he had some other people interested as well.
10 65 Fits perfectly for 6S923 as the scheduled build date at San Jose was Jan 12th, 1966.
Hope you find one soon. These are more common as you can use 6-cylinder top tanks as well. More problematic with the one marked G2
and C4ZE. Very rare. Early May 65 cars have 3 65 dated radiators.
/Bo
Woah, starting bid of $375 for 8 plugs. Some years ago I bought
2 boxes of 10 for $50 each at all Ford Day at Carlisle.
The guy had a large box dated 1965 but only these two left.
