Yeah, the only hipo blocks I have seen without
the vin were service blocks or in Cobras.
Have owned several hipo blocks and they were all stamped
with the vin but like you said, many were poorly stamped
and time and rust made them almost invisable.

Strange deals on ebay.
The repo sells for $141 and the original
for $60. Emailed the guy selling the first
one and he believed I was correct when I told him
it was a repo.

I agree with Charles, WoW!!!
Should get into selling parts on ebay,
not only buying. As said in an earlier post
above I bought two boxes at Carlisle for $50
per box. Maybe I should remove the ones
I have on the car as nobody has ever asked
about or looked at them. Could probably get
$200 for them, Just kidding, but this is
absolutely crazy. Would it end when the kids
start selling off our stuff after we, who were
born in the 40's and 50's, are gone.

This is one of two BF32 with Star boxes I bought at Carlisle
about 5 years ago. They were in a larger box (only these two left)
dated 1965. Used one box for the 65 Shelby and have the other one
(see photo) on the shelf. Paid $50 each.
Anyway, this is how originals look like in 1965.

My NOS air filter that came in the Ford box together with
the NOS air cleaner has a burgundy color and
it appears to be lower than the one shown.
The number shown on the above picture is a FRAM
number CL 183 PL which I don't think is 289 HiPo.
My HiPo FRAM filters have the number CA 181 PL.
If somebody is interested, send me an email and I can
send a photo of the original filter. Can't post here.
It's marked FOMOCO ECJ-9601-C3 on the inside.

65 Shelby's came with a gold base as
did the 65 HiPo's with the later aircleaner
type.
