    Thanks Bob,

    I have a 65 coil dated 5DCB with a dimple and the

bracket has a hole but I must place the coil deeper

in the bracket, i.e. below the dimple to get it to fit my 65

GT350 without hitting the waterpump, correct?

Saw a 1965 picture of 5S114 from the Mustang GT350 web site and

it looks like that's exactly what the Ford factory did.

This means that the ink stamping on the coil won't be visable

when the coil is mounted as the bracket covers it.

    Hi,

    My codes are 2D, 3D, 5B and 7A.

One, 5B had an index button (filed down) and bracket with

a hole for the index button.

The other three have no trace of any index button and brackets

    without the hole.

Have heard that the index button and subsequent bracket with

a hole were not produced after April 1965, ie. 5DD something should

be the last date on the ink stamp. Anybody has anything else

    on that issue?

    /Bo

Anybody know for sure what the embossed code

on the yellow top coil between the posts stands

for? Date code is applied with the ink stamp

and doesn't match the embossed code on the top.

For example an original coil dated 5DCB has an

    embossed code of 7B.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi,

Sent two shifters to Bill Heeley and got them back a few days

ago. Excellent work and a nice guy to do business with.

Have a question for you. He puts on a rubber or plastic bushing

over and under the reverse sleeve and I wonder if these shifters

came with those originally. I know that Ford used them on

NOS replacement shifters because I bought one in a box many years ago

and it had those bushings. However, I have never seen them

on an original. Could it be that they just have worn out over the

    years. Thanks for your help.

    Hi Murf,

I attended the Yellow Rose car show on Saturday

but did not see Tom Daniels. I think his car was

there but owned by somebody else nowadays.

Sorry, but I will continue to see if I can get

in contact with him or Gregg Cly.

    Hi,

At the SAAC convention in Portland, OR in the beginning of

the 90's, there was a guy with a Falcon 63 1/2 equipped with

a 289 HiPo engine. He showed me a magazine article about

this dealer installed option and I think there were about 5 cars made or something. In that case the engine code wasn't

a K, of course, due to the dealer installation. Very cool car though.

    Hi Guys,

I have a memory way back in my head

that this car or one looking exactly

as this one used to be in the Denver

area and was showned in Mustang Monthly

in the beginning of the 90's. Something

about this guys parents looking after

his car when he was in Gulf war.

    Hi Murf,

I have not been able to locate any of these guys yet

but will continue to try. Hopefully, Tom Daniels

will have a car at the Yellow Rose car show in Fort

Worth in August and I may see him there.

    Hi Cliff,

As far as I know, you can use a hydralic

cam in a HiPo block, if you haven't

inserted cam oil restriction plugs in the

gallery. I have those in one of my HiPo

engines. How to identify a HiPo engine can

be found in a couple of books, Bob Mannel's

f.ex. You can also use the search function

on this site and get the information.

    Good luck,

    /Bo

Yes, pictures of early 65 Shelbys in the

magazines from the same year show the short

bend shifter as well. Those cars were built

in Nov-Dec 64. Chrles is most likely correct

that I need a curved shifter in my early

    May 65 built car though.
