You guys made me curious now. Have to check the
shade of red under my 67 Shelby. The underside
has never been touched (in need of any repair)
so the original primer is still there. Will have to wait until next June as the car is in Sweden. By the way Jeff,
saw your name mentioned in a Swedish book about the
65-66 Mustang that a couple of guys from the club over there
wrote.

Good point from Dave,
Had exactly the same issue on my 65. The AMK repro
regulator is probably made to factory specs while
their alternator has a higher amp output. This may make them
incompatible with each other. Tested two repro regulators and
the problem was the same. Used an eletronic regulator with
the cover from one of the AMK repros to look correct and the
charging system has since worked perfectly.

My friend's car 6S923 has an original Holley 3259
dated 581, i.e. first week of August 1965 and
the car was built in Jan-Feb. 66. They started with the use
of S2MS carbs later in the 66 model year but I don't know the exact date.

and assembled on 5E3, i.e. May 3, 1965.
That's exactly 10 days between the two.

A friend of mine bought original 67 shoulder harnesses
only for about $3000 some 3 years ago. I believe the seller
was Perogie Ent. Complete harnesses and lap belts would
probably be worth about $3500 nowadays.

Have three repo decals and the only one having
the right side corner black is Jim's. The other two are white.

These three have an rectangular (straight) Autolite decal.
One that is very clear is from the Hot Rod Magazine from Aug.65
Another is the factory picture fron Shelby American where you can
see the date of the radiator, 2-65
A third is the 1965 picture of 5S114 which arrived at Shelby
in the end of March and the radiator is dated 2-65

A question for you:
When did Ford change to the curved Autolite Spark plug decal
from the straight one on the HiPo/Shelby air cleaner lids?
All magazines from 1965 showing 65 Shelbys have a straight
decal. Original pictures from Shelby cars made in the end of March 65
have the straight ones. I traded for a complete air cleaner, Ford boxed, including lid, base dated 6A and filter. The lid has a straight Autolite Spark plug decal. Was there a difference between
different plants maybe.

I used to own a 70 BOSS 302 with wide ratio trans.
As I recall it was a code 6. Didn't work that well
with a traction lock 3.91 rear axle.

Very very nice 65 GT350. However, there are a few
things that aren't correct. Trim ring around
the edge of the gas pedal shouldn't be there.
Also, it looks like the heater hoses are wrongly
connected. $315.00 buh, I am so glad I bought my
car when I could still afford one almost 20 years ago.
This car #199 came from the factory without Le Mans stripes.
Overall a beautiful car but $315.00?

I checked the SAAC registry and it said that
28 67 GT350's were equipped with Paxton from the factory
according to factory records.
One of these 28 were scrapped in Sweden after a fire
destroyed it completely.

Yes, I read that. 28 came from a TV show
where they featured a 67 GT350 with factory
installed Paxton. SAAC knows, of course
exactly how many as they have every invoice.
