I had two air cleaners painted by a professional shop
using Charles formula so I don't have any paint left.
May have the formula somewhere but I think Charles
should decide if it's okay to publish it here.

I got a formula from Charles Turner that was
a perfect match.

I was talking about the $800 for sale by Jim Cowles
alias Acman63.
/Bo
Thanks guys,
That's exactly what I need. Bought my car in 1977
and it was missing the bracket for what ever reason.
Looks like somebody just bent it off and left
a couple of ugly holes in the front apron.
Anybody has one?
/Bo
Don't know if I am getting blind but the top fan
for sale looks like it has a H64 date code which
is August 64 and not November L64 as the ad says.
/Bo
No, it's for a non-hipo car.
/Bo
The San Jose' radiators were stamped from the
back which would mean that the top tank would
have to be removed first and then reinstalled.
/Bo
Difficult to explain, but the bracket is bent about
one third of the back plane, i.e. the part that the bag
hangs on is shorter in one end.
/Bo
What you describe is the later 67 system.
My car was produced in Jan 67 and has the
black with gold text reservoir and need the
bracket I am talking about.
Thanks,
/Bo
Hi Guys,
I am looking for an original windshield washer bag bracket
for my 67. These are specific to the earlier 67's and
welded to the left front apron. Anybody please?
/Bo
Adison,
Did you get this trans in a trade with Paul?
If so, it used to be in my 65 until I found
a correctly date coded one. Again, if so,
it's rebuilt and in excellent shape. Worked like a charm
with the following date codes:
House: June 9th, 65
Tail shaft: June 7th, 1965
Assembly date: July 8th, 1965.
Originally, it came out of a 66 Shelby here in Texas.
/Bo
If you are talking about the markings stamped
in the back end of the housing, not the plate
it's the assembly date code. The one on my car
has D295 2, which means April 29, 1965, second shift.
/Bo
My C-code coupe has one looking exactly like this one
but dated 1-65. Automatic, power steering and A/C.

Above pictures of the original Alternator shown by
5F09C says " 15v55a c5af-10300-B Neg under the Autolight".
I was under the assumption that 65 HiPo's were all 42Amp
and not 55Amps as shown in the stamp and marked
C5AF-10300-D instead of -B. According to my manuals
55Amp alternators were only used on big blocks in 65.

All 65 Shelbys(more than 10)I have seen with original radiators
from #114 and up through #455 have been marked
W-MO, 2,3,4,5-65, C4ZE, G2. No Y2 on Shelbys but
I have seen other 4-speed radiators with the same
dates but marked Y2.
Could it be that Y2 were used on C and A codes and G2 were
used on K codes or maybe G2 were used on cars with
a fan shroud and Y2 on cars without. Interesting topic!

Did you check that the oil pan doesn't leak
through pores in the aluminum before mounting it?
Quite often the repos do that unfortunately.
/Bo
To my knowledge, Shelby didn't change the oil pick up
when he installed the Cobra oil pan. Had no problems fitting
the oil pan on my 65 GT350 or my 67 GT500 with a 289 HP
engine and Cobra oil pan. I also added the Boss 302
windage tray on both without any issues.
/Bo
I agree and don't believe he will get that kind of money
for this steering wheel. The steering wheel in my 67 has
never been out of the car in the soon 31 years I have owned
the car and the surface is in much better shape then
what appears to be the case with this wheel.
Remember when Hansen Racing, Shelby importer to Sweden,
had 5 of these wheels hanging on the wall for sale in his shop
in Stockholm. Must have been in 1979 and the price per wheel was
very low. Guess NOS means Near Old Stock these days.
/Bo
The Buy It Now price has been reduced to $20 from
$40 so he probably has read this tread.
/Bo
Was that 66 Shelby rebuilt by Walt and Chip Hane
in Evergreen, CO and was it red?
Saw one when I lived up there many years ago that had been
crushed by a tree.
