No, that's not correct for a 65/66 alternator.
It's for a later car.

6hypo5conv,
The steering box ratio is 16:1 for HiPo's and Power Steering and
19,9:1 for Standard in a Mustang. Fairlane and Falcon have
22:1. Please remember these numbers are for the box itself.
Connected to the front end the ratio values are different.

My 67 Shelby with a 289 HiPo and the big 715 Holley
does the same if I touch the gas pedal. If I just keep
my foot from the pedal it starts immediately. Slightest touch
and I must crank it with the pedal to the floor for a while.

Goes for me to. Me and my Swedish friends had a long discussion
with Don and his wife about these excellent housings.

Hi,
In an earlier discussion about front springs the white
markings indicated that the spring rates were borderline on the
low end when tested. Search earlier posts and you will
find this discussion.

Dan,
You need a radiator for a 67 GT350, correct?

Bought my impeller from a guy on ebay, The Waterpump man
I believe he called himself. Also bought a rebuilt
April 65 dated aluminum pump from him for $120. Impeller was $43.

In the book Shelby Mustangs by Tom Corcoran, car no 5S266
which had about 26000 miles on the odometer appears to have
the metal ring as can be seen on a very close up photo.
This car is very close to mine as regards Shelby number
and probably as regards Ford vin as well.
Jeff Speegle said above that he has seen both on 65 cars
from San Jose. Maybe I shall wait with changing mine out
on 5S275.

Brant,
For your information, 5S162 was produced around March 24 at San Jose
and received at Shelby on March 29.

Thanks for the information. Paul also verified that his cars
have the plastic ones. Found one in my stuff from the restoration
in 1992 so it may have come off my car, just don't remember.
Will change them to plastic on my car when I found a second one.

My 65 Shelby, built around May 7th at San Jose has door jamb
switches with a metal ring around the button.
Other cars I have seen has a plastic ring. Which is correct
and if both were used in 65-66 when was the cutover date?
Was there any difference between plants?
Thanks,
/Bo
I have used the old ebay and recently got an email from them stating the option will be removed soon.

Hi,
I used the program from Bowling and Grippo to calculate what you need. Added the following parameters: Tire diameter, 24.83",
rear axle ratio, 3.50:1 and number of teeth on drive gear, 6 which gives the driven gear teeth numbers to be 17.
Check the diameter of your tires to be absolutely sure.
Also the HiPo trans (Top Loader)has 6 teeth on the drive gear.
Make sure you use the correct teeth type, left.
Hope this helps,
/Bo
The assembly manuals for 65-66 show the choke bracket mounted
to the far left under the dash. 67's, I don't have but have a picture of an original choke also mounted to the far left.
However, the 67 knob doesn't have the C ingraved.

Larry, Larry, you not only sold the car but was mean to the buyer.
What happened with the kind guy?

When I lived in Sweden and hadn't found a HiPo 289 for my 67
Shelby yet, I used a standard 289 engine and put a HiPo damper
and the counter weight on it and didn't re-balance it.
Never had any problems. Then in 1981 I found two genuine HiPo's
a 65 (August 64 assembly date) and a 67 with HEH-BX transmission
and clutch equilizer bar etc. Use the 65 engine and 67 trans, clutch
etc. in my car.Sold the 67 engine and it's in a 66 HiPo Mustang now.

My 67 Shelby had the traction masters when I bought it
in 1977 so I can't compare the handling but they sure
have an appeal and the reason for a lot of discussions
with people. Put them on!
