It has been quite awhile since I have posted on this site so I thought I would try to see if I still know how. Greetings from Chuck at Distributor Dynamics.

Just reviewed the posts on this subject (carpets) after attempting to put carpet in my latest k project. Like I said before, most of the stuff out there right now is junk as far as the resto business goes. ACC says they will address the problem. Good luck. Do you think they just make mustang carpet? I would bet that if you held a convention right now of restorers and rebuilders, you would hear horror stories from every different car applications from AMX's to Willys. I think they are beyond immediate help to the mustang restorer. Face it friends, we now live in a world of cheap, throw away crap, mostly made outside the good ole USA. Like I have said before, I am working on my last three projects. I am getting to old to wait for the good repo parts revolution.

This is exactly why I am giving up on the restoration hobby. I started back in the late 80's and I can't believe how crappy repo parts have become on the whole. Carpet being the worst. I pulled some acc carpet I had in storage from about 1991 and couldn't believe the difference in quality. You hold the old carpet up to the light and you could not see light coming thru. The new stuff looks like you are looking out a screen door. It goes past the point of disgusting. I had a buddy that upholstered air planes do an interior of my 64 falcon ranchero and he custom made the carpet and it looks absolutely fantastic. I guess that is the way to go if you can find someone to do it.
