Fellows, you are both correct. I believe the book by Bob Mannel goes into more detail, pictures, specs and numbers.I have one of those early blocks and it seems like it had some 1965 dates hand stamped on the oil pan web that Bob says could have been service replacement type blocks. So date codes are 64-65 vintage.Hope that helps. Also note that the right rear casting nub on the side of block carried a 3 digit hand stamped sequenctial number specific to the Fairlane run.Once again check Mannels book for more info.Service blocks don't have the stamped #

Hello everybody from Wyoming! I have 2 GT Coupes sitting in my yard, 1 being a 65 K code and the 2 being a 66 A code. The 65 does have the 9" snubber plate on the frame rail, I'll be happy to crawl underneath the 66 to look and see what type of snubber plate is underneath if any one is interested?

67 K code GT Conv 4 spd,Burnt Amber/Saddle

I forgot to mention that the 64 Galaxies also used the 4 headlight setup with the cast FOMOCO logo cast in the center.I found most of the Large cast bulbs(2 bulb setup) on pre 64 Falcons. Don't know if it is a generator equipped cars thing or not. Have a original set on my 67 GTA A code Fastback that are etched on the center and date coded in ink on the back. Be real careful cleaning as the ink will be easily wiped off. Hope that helps.

Not sure about the Mustang,But I did find a nice original set on an early Falcon and they look great on my D code conv.

I've got a 63 falcon tube if you want a falcon specific one. If it's not to far. Good luck-John

Howdy again,
I looked at the set and they are date coded 3J18 and 3K23 which I think shake out to 18SEP63 and 23OCT63. These might be too late for your build. Thanks for the interest-John

Howdy,
I think I have a pair of C30E heads but let me check the date code and get back to you-John

Kind of related-My'67 K Konv from Dearborn has fender buck tag that was stamped out of a Mercury door tag. Still has some of the original black engine compartment paint runs on the underside of tag.Happy Mustanging-John
