I went to the Greenwood Car Show in Seattle with my 66 restomod 'vert, and joined the Shelby club with its hand full of very nice important Cars [ the first Shelby!! ]. After walking the mile and a half of cars, I reflected on a 66' mustang convertible...It was a " T " code....with a 289 [ small balancer] in it and High Performance 289 badges on the fenders...
My " T " code vert, while sporting Hipo style drivetrain [ 289/347 stroker, 9" track-lock, etc.,etc.} has NO engine badges of any kind on the fenders, and my window info spells out the rebuild on a ordinary chassis with no claims to a V-8, let alone a HiPo....
There must be considerable " benefit " to be gained from the badges alone....

He has a narrow view of what " twelve " really means....

Welcome to the site..!!The few of us who have original automatic hipo's have very special Kars, with special driving characteristics.
The numbers surviving are very low....having been conceived possibly for the Hertz GT350 automatics used in the rental fleet. Many of those were converted to 4-speed's and the tranny's are long gone.
What do you know about your C-4, what do you know about its originality? PM's are welcome, too.

I have sent a you a PM. Thanks

That is some impressive instruction!!

I have found Amzoil to give the protection I needed for my 289/347. Even though its been built with roller everything, there are many other parts [ fuel pump, chains, ] that have metal to metal surfaces that slide, not roll, and for those reasons, I have added ZDDP Plus to every engine I own.

Very interested, please reply by private message..

I've seen hipo heads with a mix of large and small, not sure if this was the norm, a mix from a previous rebuild or?? Anyone else notice a mixed bag?

no worries, mate, finger farts happen before we can stop hitting the send button, oh well,

This is one emotion-producing video for us ol' pilots.... I've been privileged to have flown in one of these, unforgettable of course, thanks a bunch for sharing it with us.

Agree, a very neat car, and looking quite original...

-
But all the removable parts , those that attach but are not a part of the chassis, ARE replaceable... and if the bones that ARE identifiable
are there, then, replacing the attachable parts to the " repaired " tub leaves you with a HIPO, right? Charles, would you weigh in here please?

-
I know, I know, but if anyone is interested or knows someone who might be, send a personal message. 4 sail...

What did you think of it?Quote from duckdog1958When this car was for sale last year in Hanover PA I saw it in person twice.

Mine has just arrived after an order placed in January, but it looks great.

That is a very low price, $10K with little body work will be more like it, be sure you have each step written down, as in strip, primer, sand, primer, sand, base coat, base coat, sand, base coat, sand, clear coat, clear coat, sand, buff. also, be sure it names a high quality, paint/primer and the color exactly what you want. pay in installments for completion of a part, i.e., strip, all priming completed and inspected, then the paint, and a major portion of the quoted price paid after the car is absolutely completed. Let us know what you decide and how it progresses.
