I paid what he is asking for a VERY rusty barn find vert. It will cost between $30 and 60K to do the kar. Will I get my money out? who knows. I just want it finished and in MY hands, if at all poosible. You have something to consider.![]()

I missed a nice GT coupe K because I thought a thousand dollars was too much more. When someone else readily went the extra thousand, I realized it wasn't that much more and the cars are harder to find. I was willing to go the thou, and if I had, we both would have been happier. think hard on it.

Congrats on owning a K-code! I also own a 66' automatic K-vert. do you know the history of your Kar? Maybe we auto-vert owners should group together!! Heh!
Drop me a line, if you like, I'm in the Seattle corner of the country. Beautiful Kar, by the way. -
I have a repop that bent at the end of the spline, and therefore is unuseable. I don't know who made it, as of now. Lynn Park is not an option, he won't part with anything worth buying. I will try Drew. Thanks.

Thanks for the info, a lot of the early mustangs hit the drag strips.

This sounds like a good starting point. If the major draw back is paint, you may want to go with it as is for a while. There are paint jobs, and then there are really fine paint jobs. My paint job on my 66' vert is about $10K, and it is not a show job, tho it will be quite nice, original Emberglo metallic. But I know of $15K and up, so the car must warrant the high quality job. Doing just paint when you are almost there for the full resto should be a consideration. This one just may be worth it, tho red is not the most rewarded color IMHO. Price? $30K, give or take. AS Is.

Guys and gals, forgive me for a non-K appeal, but pehaps someone out there can help me find an original 289 Cobra left rear splined axle hub, Anyone????

thanks. -
This brings to mind the saying, " over the legal limit," this is the most beautiful sight on the greatest Kar site!!! WOW ! This may be the greatest gathering of K's ever, anyone disagree?

I think he took it off the market.

The wheels are from an outfit in Arizona, packracingproducts.com packracingproducts.com. The wheels are 15X7 with 12mm + offset, or 4.41" [inches] positive. this moves them[ tires ] further from the fender lip, and , so far, doesn't touch the spring/uprights, or my bigger rotors. I'm not up to
speed on cutting and pasting the photos, perhaps you can go to their site and bring over a pic. call Terry there, 1-866-855-3473. He's a big help.

I've just mounted 205/65-15's on the rims and will see how they fit, they're Michelin.

The small balancer, the fact that it has a" correct 289 block with correct hipo heads, solid lifters" leads me to believe it is a stock 289 with the hipo heads and solid lifters added, NOT a hipo engine. To me that is a huge difference . Real hipo engines are more than heads and lifters. my .02 cents worth.

David, what a beautiful K vert, in an incredible setting!!wow!!

how are the clearances in the front? Rear?

I've been scratching my head wondering what tire I should be getting for my 66 vert restomod. I've decided to go with the 70's Minilite look, and am using superlite 15X7's. I am looking for a very good ride, but also good handling and of course [ think Seattle ] wet braking. Discount tire has quite a range, and has a store close by, so I want to make a choice that I will be happy to live with for a long time. While good choices are solicited, those to avoid are also appreciated. The size that seems in the ball park is a 205/65-15. But size suggestions are also requested for my wheel size. Thanks in advance.

I called twice, got a machine, and no call back.....hmmmm.

Well, I voted for you, come on, gang, get him the Mustang !!

C4 hipo block AND HiPo caps wanted, fie bolt of course, and if its a complete short, so much the better. I thought the short block I bought was correct and unbored, but alas, it had Mexican caps. I like Mexican food, but have plenty of their caps. So if anyone out there has what I need , please let me know.
Thanks.
