Depending on the color, wear on the interior, etc., the high teens to low 20's seems to be the area for coupes. If it is an extremely strong Kar in all respects, the mid to high 20's. Assuming of course that its not a Thorobred restoration sitting in its enclosed, heated trailer
Could you come up with pics, and post for all to see, where is the Kar?

Is it a correct C-4 HIPo automatic? is there a tag on it? and I wouldn't sell anything, let the rust do its worst, the sheet metal repair difference might not be as significant as you might think at first. Cover it as best as you can. If it becomes too much to bear, and your family's needs become too pressing , consider selling it, preferably to me. I sold my 65 shelby's for family's needs and don't regret it. When I didn't put my family first, I've regreted it. Ask Beagle1, they are there for the long run, this is all stuff, after all. IMHO anyway. good luck.

Bob Mannell will speak to part of your enquiry. You need his book.

Wait, wait... what coupe project for sale?? Tell us more, is it an automatic, and do you have the original trans??

-
Sweet, I'll bet the Chevys turn and head the other way.

My good friend has two, hipo fans , a C65, and a D65, and would like to trade for yours. which one would you like?

-
there are two or three on ebay right now, the complete pair, but if you are waiting for just those parts, you are ......well, waiting

-
so.....when do we have lift off?? have we a concensus??

-
OK, plan B. Can you isolate/identify each part that needs to be reproduced, to factory specs? then maybe we can get it done. My K was ripped off sometime in its history, and buying another hipo just to rip its tranny out is not the most desireable optin for me. Does anyone out there have a real hipo automatic they can sell me, or use to reproduce the parts? I am willing to make the parts available to others if we can make them.

how do they fit?

Kopec and Eber have used Shelby to line their pockets for a long time. [ 30 years + ] They used their positions to pluck cars for themselves at well below market as insiders. Shelby is just claiming its territory and protecting itself from further unlicense/unapproved use.

It may be that the one that bent was a Brian Angliss/ Autokraft english axle made from mild steel. Petrus makes his from heat treated 4340 steel. Thanks for the help.

They have an 800 number, but I can't find it, but the direct number is 1-909-923-2357. I talked to a Cindy, she was putting together the new web site and talked of the details in this kit. report back here, if you please.

-
Well, how about over $1000.00, AND THEN ALL THE WORK? Totally dissatisfied with Stainless Works. Their bread and butter is Chev..... need I say more?

-
This is true, I just talked to them and they have the full kit for $199.50 and it has all the right parts that distinguished the hipo from the ordinary C-4. Or so they say. I will be getting a kit for my K.

Is it in IOWA ?

if you're a real mashocist, you will buy the " oversize" stainless tri-y's from Stainless Works in Cleveland, Ohio. They originally claimed they fit, but have since modified their statement. It has taken countless, I lost count after a dozen, takeoffs, massage, refit, etc.,etc. and they don't resemble what came in the box. they don't fit the flange well and have to be beat upon at the flange to get a wrench on the bolts, even small 12 pointers. other clearances are a joke, but I'm not laughing. They will work OK now, but not near worth the work. Others out there do a proper job on oversizing the tubes, but not Stainless Works. I had seen their ad in MUstang Monthly under new products, but I have rarely been more disappointed.
Let us all know whar t you find that works easily.

If you pass on the deal, give me a chance!!
