If you have not addressed the oil/zddp issue, I would urge you to do so, the higher the pressures on the valve/cam assembly, the more urgent is your need for this protection. Very high lift, high spring/seat pressures will be a candidate for failure without this stuff. Also, for those interested, ZDDP has a limited life, as the molecules break down while doing their job, and needs to be replenished as an additive. The latest from ZDDPlus is that it may leave the phosphous and zinc in the oil, but the moecules themselves have broken down. 3000 miles seems to be a must change, even with the added ZDDP. The oil industry tests their oil with very low output engines with a fraction of the pressures experienced by high performance, flat tappet setups. Thats how they can claim they have no prblems. They rig the tests to ensure passage. Comments?

Could you post the exact contact info for Walt's so we can make our enquiries? Thanks.

I called Heacock, and they quoted me a pretty good price for a couple of stangs, throwing another high dollar car that puts the total of all cars' value over $150,000 brings another savings; in addition, if you have more than one car, they don't charge liability/moving coverage for the second car, as you only use them one at a time, and the coverage is good on an enclosed OR open trailer. some real advantages here. Nice british accent with these ladies too!

can you give us the Heacock contact info? Thanks.

Pretty car, your price is Market Value right now, and you did well. That level of restoration doesn't come cheap. Sneak out and drive it!!!

I called the guys on this one and they took it in trade and are buried somewhat. Good car and I might go take a look at it, anyone want to join me? $36K is their reserve, but they might get a market lesson soon!!

-
You might want to get a set of good factory rockers and put them aside, so that an original set up is still in your possession. fresh push rods and lifters too. And while we are on the subject of wear, remember that the ZDDP has been removed from nearly all motor oils, and those that do not take steps to suppliment their valuable collector cars risk catastrophic engine failure. and if you have untreated Marine engines, failure there would bring new meaning to " nightmare ".

If you wish to use original valve covers, I believe you must remove the baffles inside. there are two other solutions, spacers, were my solutions. There are Cobra covers available that are deeper, so the look pretty stock, but give the necessary clearance. Let us know what you decide

Jeff....if you can dig up the Toyota part number, I would reeeely appreciate it, thanks.

what does a pumpkin yolk look like. Is it yellow, or gray, or orange?

The intake side of things should be under very little pressure, only vacuum, so could you clean it[ tank it ], and then put some kind of super sealant that would bind to the gasket? don't throw away any hipo head!!
