Actually, the real buzzy, or busy numbers are the higher numbers, as the lower numbers equate to lower RPM's at a given speed. I have 3.25 in my auto vert and the rpms's still are high enough to have good jump in top gear. Still a C-4, but decent cruisin' comfort.![]()

Your " old " pump may have a stuck relief valve, not allowing the oil to bypass as the pressure builds. Afresh pump would change that. I have a NASCAR pump, unused, if you need one....

Those early style badges without the flags are very cool.....

I have a set of styled steel 15" wheels, with 225 or 205X15 Michelin I think, will check tonight, but they are forsale. The car buyer wanted the original 14 X 5 styled steel wheels, so these are extra. Any interest? Will verify the size tonight and post here. They are like new, a few hundred miles from new.

My apologies if that was directed at my comments, I am sure results " may vary ", I was only commenting on my experience at the hands of a guy who I believe had only done disassembled parts. No dig intended, really.

The real Achellies
heel is the C-4.....There are a precious few left unmolested.... They were so often unknowingly swapped for an ordinary C-4..... The internals are so different...so careful, very careful examination of the trans is vital to the integity of the Kar. this C-4 is the hallmark of the rarest K codes left...good luck..

TRUE.... it is just a set of main caps..... but if they are matched to the block...you don't have to cut metal to match them to any other block....so a matched set with the block is worth more that the caps by themselves...

will there be another K with you? I am hard pressed to get my latest K there from upper NY . But I want to show up, having paid. Be good to meet you.

Hope to see you and it in Birmingham !!

Found one!! Thanks to this Forum.!!!

If you are trying to buy or sell, if the block is useable in its present condition, .030 over needing a rebuild, I'd say $1800-2000. The hipo main caps must go to this block. a premium for a stamped block. Do you have one to sell?

I think they are mixing things up a bit. If the level of the FUEL in the float chamber is too low, hard braking would cause the small amount of fuel in the float bowl to surge forward, uncovering the outflow point. fuel starvation momentarily. If the floats are set LOWER, they will shut off incoming fuel with the level of fuel in the float bowl too low to keep fuel over the outflow point under hard braking. Setting the floats HIGHER will allow the fuel level to be nominally higher, eliminating uncovering the outflow point. Have I got this right, guys?

If you must loosen the manifold, you might consider relieving the manifold with a grinder so you eliminate the problem. You might also grind the sparkplug wrench and see if you can get at it that way, so the manifolds are still unmodified.
